Discover the watery delights of Lake Windermere at this inviting second-storey apartment with space for four (and one dog). It’s in the heart of Bowness-on-Windermere, a vibrant town abundant with shops, cafes, pubs, restaurants all within 0.5 miles, along with a cinema and the enchanting World of Beatrix Potter Attraction, which children will adore. Not to mention the wonderful hiking and mountain biking opportunities in the hills surrounding the town.

You’ll access the accommodation via an external staircase leading to the second floor. Inside, a cheerful decor of whites and yellows creates a welcoming atmosphere. You’ll have an open-plan living area featuring a cosy lounge area with TV, a well-equipped kitchen and a dining area. Light-providing glass doors lead out to a private balcony, where you can sip morning coffee while admiring the lakeside trees. The two bedrooms – a king-size and a twin – have stylish appearances with artwork echoing the main living area.

There’s plenty to do nearby, starting with Lake Windermere (300 metres) where you can enjoy lakeside picnics or take a leisurely cruise on a steamer. If you fancy something more active, rent a canoe or rowing boat to make your own way across the water. Hill Top House, Beatrix Potter’s former home, is a 3.5-mile car ferry trip away. The town is also the start of dozens of excellent walking routes and cycle trails, both around the lake and up into the fells that form its breathtaking backdrop. Keen to try some fresh baked goods? Drive the 8 miles to Grasmere, known for its tranquil ambience and famous gingerbread – be prepared to queue!

Nice apartment clean and comfortable, in a very central location. Despite how close it is to the town centre its still mostly very quiet (can hear pub singers on Fri/Sar night) Parking is limited (although we always managed to get a space) and you do have to climb stairs, this could be a challenge to some- but all things considered its an excellentRead more property in a great location Hide
