Stay in the heart of the Lake District National Park and fill your time with water-based activities on the lakes, hikes around the nearby nature reserves and hidden beauty spots, and relaxing afternoons in the picturesque town of Ambleside. Spend quality time with your loved ones and up to three canine companions in this four-bed cottage, on the grounds of Rydal Hall, with characterful features, two lounge areas and a private patio overlooking the river.

As you step inside, you’ll notice the homely and welcoming atmosphere of the first lounge. Your attention will be drawn to the exposed stone fireplace with a warming wood burner. This space is comfortable and bright, with accents of orange in the decor. Gather with your guests in the spacious, open-plan kitchen/diner with a farmhouse-style fitted kitchen, tones of green and red throughout, plus a wooden dining table with seating for eight. For some quiet time alone, head into the snug, where you’ll be spoiled by the wide range of books. Also on the ground floor is a utility room. Upstairs is a family bathroom and four bedrooms, two with en-suites – a family room with a double and single bed, two zip-and-link super-king-size bedrooms and one twin room. Outside is a private patio with furniture overlooking the river.

Perfect cottage for our family gathering with 2 dogs, plenty of space for 8 adults, comfortable and well equipped. We loved the location right next to the waterfall in the beautiful grounds of Rydal Hall, easy walks from the door into Grasmere and Ambleside, the Badger Bar just down the hill for food and the cafe on our doorstep for lunches and cakRead moree. We will be back! Hide
