Escape to the coast while also being within easy reach of the Lake District National Park during your stay in this elegant and homely cottage with a sociable open-plan layout and a garden. This dog-friendly property sleeps up to five guests and is perfect for hiking in nature and lazy beach days while also being close to amenities in the town of Millom.

Settle into the bright neutral-toned lounge/diner with chandelier-style lighting, and a feature fireplace. A plump corner sofa sits opposite the TV and behind is a spacious dining area with a wooden table and chairs plus a desk with a monitor. Continue into the stylish grey and yellow galley-style kitchen with eye-catching patterned tiles and a breakfast bar with two stools at the far end. Climb the stairs to reach a family bathroom with a rainfall shower over the bath and two bedrooms – a double and a family room with a double and single bed. Outside is a garden with furniture and storage for bikes.

Situated on the outskirts of Millom town, stroll into the centre to find a handful of eateries and shops. Take your four-legged friends on an adventure in the nearby RSPB Hodbarrow nature reserve (1 mile) before visiting the Hodbarrow Lighthouse and walking along the Hodbarrow Sea Wall (1.5 miles). Go for a dip at Millom Beach (1.5 miles) and venture into the Lake District National Park (3.5 miles). Here, you can hike around Hesk Fell (11 miles), Coniston Water (19.5 miles) and the Stanley Ghyll Waterfall (15 miles).

Lovely cottage which were looking to rebook us and the dogs needed a long awaited break; the owners were only a text away and the area was perfect for beaches and hills. The town has a few amenities which is less than what us Black Country folk are used to BUT Tescos deliver and theres lovely shops, including Tesco superstore, the cottage its self Read moreis wonderful and we cant fault it at all.
