Escape to this romantic countryside cottage south of the Lake District National Park with wooden beamed ceilings, charming rustic decor and a wood burner. Ideally situated in a picturesque Cumbrian village, you can enjoy romantic dog walks, date nights at the local eateries and trips into the national park or nearby coastline.

Walk through a hallway shared with neighbouring accommodations and enter the first-floor apartment. Inside, the neutral tones and wooden accents create a homely and tranquil atmosphere in the lounge. Stylish lighting and the glow of the wood burner keep the space light while you watch a movie on the Smart TV. Continue into the elegant, farmhouse-style kitchen with wooden worktops and blue cabinets. To one side of the room is a high dining table with two kitchen stools. Completing the interior of the property is a shower room with marble-effect tiles and an elegant bedroom with an exposed stone fireplace and wooden beamed ceiling.

During your stay in Cartmel, you can walk along the River Eea, visit the local deli and treat yourself to a meal out at one of the three highly rated eateries in the village. Explore the nearby 200-acre Holker Hall & Gardens (2.5 miles), which is home to a deer park, woodland and a countryside hall. Stroll along the Sandgate to Chapel Island Bay Walk (3 miles) and take your four-legged friends for a sniff around the Roudsea Wood and Mosses National Nature Reserve (5 miles). Head into the Lake District National Park (0.5 miles) to find the National Trust Fell Foot (7.5 miles) and majestic Lake Windermere (8 miles).

Great location. In the centre of the village but quiet. Pubs, cafes and restaurants within a few yards. Very well appointed and comfortable. No outside space but plenty of pavement cafes and other sitting areas in the village.

This is an ideal apartment for staying in Cartmel, you are in the heart of the village and easy walking distance for all the wonderful cafes, pubs and restaurants. We didn't cook as we were there to eat out but the kitchen seemed well equipped, first time I've seen an air fryer in a holiday property. Check in was easy and the owners were super helpRead moreful on the one occasion we needed to contact them. Overall this is a great apartment tastefully decorated. I'd highly recommend Hide

The property was lovely, and we really enjoyed it. The heating was a slight issue as this could not be adjusted and was only set to 17 degrees. In fairness we had horrendous weather and got soaked so stayed in one day but found the flat cold. I eventually messaged Susannah, and she was lovely, she came around with fresh logs and her husband adjusteRead mored the heating by remote. Would definitely stay again Hide

The apartment is very comfortable, and stylish. It was perfect for a stay for 2, and a good base for exploring the area, as well as having cosy evenings in. It is in the village square, convenient for shops, cafes and pubs.
