Wander down to Derwentwater or potter in the colourful independent shops when you stay in this charming cottage right at the heart of Keswick. Sleeping just two guests, the one-bedroom bolthole makes an exquisite, romantic retreat for couples seeking to immerse themselves in the delightful town and spectacular Lake District. From here you can also spend time at Bassenthwaite Lake, 4 miles away, or Ullswater, 13 miles away.

Open the door to the enchanting retreat and wander in to find the ground-floor accommodation centres on an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Cuddle up on the sofa in here together on those evenings you choose to stay in, chatting about your day or enjoying a film on the Smart TV. Stroll over to the kitchen to pull a bottle of fizz from the fridge, then perch at the breakfast bar with a glass while your loved one whips up a romantic meal for two. When you are ready to turn in for the night, make your way up the steep, cottage-style stairs to the first floor. Your king-size bedroom, which takes in views towards the picturesque fell of Catbells, has a second Smart TV for those lazy mornings in bed. Run yourself a long hot bubble bath in the bathroom next door before heading down for breakfast. Have morning coffee out on the bench in front of the cottage before heading off on your next adventure.

Treat yourselves to tickets to a show at the Theatre by the Lake, just 0.5 miles away. Catch a launch out on Derwentwater from here too so you can admire the incredible scenery from the lake itself. Follow the Derwentwater Walk, a 10-mile waymarked path which will take you all the way round the lake. Venture 13 miles to see Aira Force Waterfall by the shores of Ullswater.

Beautiful cottage, ideal for a couple. Location was perfect. There were so many lovely little extra touches, bluetooth mirror in the bathoom, little pebbles dotted around the house with lovely messages. Very comfortable bed. Local maps provided. Everything was lovely, modern, clean and everything was provided for us in the kitchen area, far more thRead morean any other cottage we have stayed in. The bottle of prosecco was a lovely touch. A warm and cozy cottage in a great location. Really handy for the local pubs, restaurants and local shops. Overall we had a great week and the cottage was good value for money.

This is a fantastic find even if it does not have its own parking spot. If you are familiar with Keswick you will not struggle with parking anyway. We had a great week and the location makes it easy to reach the local bars and restaurants. We also used the buses for the first time to travel around the lakes!
