Lose yourselves in the incredible views all around you from this impressive cottage at Castlerigg in the Lake District. Situated 1.5 miles from the centre of Keswick, the spacious hideaway sleeps six guests and captures magnificent views towards Bassenthwaite Lake and Catbells. With a wood burner for winter evenings in together, it also comes with a garden for summer relaxation and soaking up the surroundings.

Open the front door to this Lakeland retreat and wander through to the light-filled lounge/kitchen/diner. Ponder in here to take in the views, light the wood burner and find a film for everyone to enjoy on the Smart TV. Head over to the kitchen area to put the kettle on or pour yourself a glass of wine to sip up at the breakfast bar as you chat to the chef. Your party will find everything they require in this well-equipped space to help them prepare your holiday feasts with your own ingredients. There is also a conservatory, where you can enjoy a few quiet moments to yourself as you look out over the landscape. Congregate at the table inside or out at mealtimes. Also downstairs are a useful boot room and a family shower room. The bedrooms are all on the first floor. These include a bunk bedroom and two king-sizes, one of which can be made up as a twin by prior agreement. There is a family bathroom up here too. Luxuriate in the outside space at this property, where you can relax while the children play games on the lawn.

Walk 1.5 miles from the cottage to see the famous Castlerigg Stone Circle. Head to Derwentwater Marina, 5 miles away, to hire paddle boards, kayaks, canoes or rowing boats or take a cruise out on the water from a jetty, 1.5 miles away.

As a family group of four adults and two children , we really enjoyed our holiday at Walla Yat. The house is spacious, homely, welcoming and spotlessly clean . Views from the lounge of the beautiful mountains and lake are spectacular, and indeed there is a view from all the rooms. Even on a day when the weather wasnt good , we were able to relax anRead mored play board games in the cosy lounge. The kitchen is well appointed , bedrooms comfortable. The house was in a great location with easy access to Keswick and the surrounding areas but at the same time, in a peaceful spot. Spacious with a very well equipped large kitchen/diner and large lounge and bedrooms. Spotlessly clean with double beds that were very comfortable with firm mattresses and a really comfy 3 piece suite in the lounge. The Read morehouse was decorated for Christmas which we really appreciated. Hide
