You’ll find a beautifully furnished double bedroom on this floor, or if you’ve got plenty of energy left, follow the warmth of the wood burner into the first-floor lounge, boasting comfy sofas perfectly placed to admire picturesque views overlooking the garden from the Juliette balcony. You’ll also find a double and twin bedroom on this floor, each offering a calming sanctuary for a dreamy night’s rest. Unwind surrounded by the tranquillity of the countryside on the open front lawn or rear tiered garden featuring a seating area perfect for dining alfresco.

Nestled in the Eden Valley, the historic town of Appleby-in Westmorland is home to a 17th-century castle, local pubs, shops and galleries, and the Eden Valley Railway, with the Carlisle to Settle lines passing through. Keen walkers and cyclists can conquer the moorlands of the Northern Pennies 10 miles away or walk the Lake District Fells 15 miles away. While away a fine summer’s day at the open-air swimming pool in Shap (9.5 miles) or hire a boat or jump on a steamer to take in the breathtaking scenery in the pretty village of Pooley Bridge (15 miles) which sits on the banks of Ullswater.

  • 3 dogs allowed. Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week
  • There is an Accidental Damage Deposit of £250 when booking at this property, however this may be waived for £30. We’ll provide more details about this when booking your holiday.

An immaculate cottage, with everything you could possibly need and more. A perfect home from home. Welcome pack was full of helpful information as well as the lovely welcome hamper, which was much appreciated after a long drive. Lovely, warm and homely cottage close to the lakes and hills. Very well appointed with personal touches such as books and pictures. Would definitely recommend!

Quiet, spacious, comfortable, well equipped barn conversion located in a small hamlet about ten minute drive from the centre of Appleby in Westmorland. Some very interesting art works and an extensive book collection to enjoy. Large lounge with large smart TV and plenty of seating for everyone. This cottage was great!! The location is lovely, with lots of nice walks around, and some great views of hills. The cottage inside is very well decorated and clean. Couldn't recommend more!!

Arrived to a beautiful warm cozy cottage. It exceeded my expectations. A lovely gesture of t bags, biscuits and fresh coffee was fab . Thank you for this. It was just what we were looking for to bring in the New Year! Great family venue, very well presented and the attention to detail, was superb. A nice 40 minute walk in to Appleby surrounded by stunning scenery. Lovely hosts and I would definitely return in a hearts beat.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Town End Barn. It was extremely well equipped and absolutely spotless. We particularly liked the enormous lounge with views over the garden and cosy wood burning stove. The downstairs bedroom was also great, with a large en-suite. There is plenty to do, including walks and cycle rides straight from the door. Many oRead moref the local villages have great pubs: the Stag Inn in Dufton is worth a visit. A wonderful holiday property, clean, well furnished & equipped and extremely homely. Would highly recommend it. Provides an excellent base to explore the Lake District and Cumbria, plenty to do within a short travelling distance.
