Accommodating nine people across five bedrooms, it provides the perfect escape for large families or groups who want to discover the stunning Lake District countryside together. During the day, explore the quaint shops, historic taverns and inviting tearooms of Broughton-in-Furness, or pack up a picnic and head off to Haverigg Beach. In the evening, come home to relax by the wood burner in the cottage’s snug, or host a sociable dinner on the decked patio under starry skies.

Step inside and you’ll be greeted by the spacious open-plan farmhouse-style kitchen/dining area. Walk down the hallway and you’ll find a lovely lounge area where you’ll feel immediately at home. Head to the stylish kitchen area to whip up some dinner and host a sociable meal at the sleek dining table. Or head out onto the decked patio and enjoy an al fresco meal. After dinner, lose yourself in a good book in the mezzanine study, or warm your toes by the wood burner in the lounge. At the end of the day, there are five beautifully decorated bedrooms waiting for you - one double on the ground floor and three doubles and one twin on the first floor. The ground-floor bedroom boasts direct access onto the patio.

Grab your hiking boots and follow the route along the river in the pretty Duddon Valley (3 miles). If you're feeling a little more energetic, hop onto your mountain bike or canoe to explore. This cottage is amazing. Its a quirky layout but loads of space. Incredibly well equipped. Gorgeous garden and views . Probably one of the best cottages Ive stayed in. Good location too.

Beautiful, comfortable, well-equipped house and very dog friendly. Weve rented many properties over the years but this is the first time weve experienced a welcome pack for our dog not just the humans. Much appreciated! Bedrooms were spacious and had very comfortable beds. The house, despite its size, was warm, cosy and homely catering for all agesRead more. We would love to return in better weather to spend time in the beautiful garden. Hide
