Get the whole gang together at this charming farmhouse in the peaceful hamlet of Witherslack. This lovely cottage accommodates eight people across four bedrooms, making it the ideal accommodation option for large families or groups of friends celebrating a special occasion in the country - while also giving them the opportunity to hike some of the Lake District's prettiest trails. During the day, go for a stroll through the quaint streets of Witherslack to admire its historic architecture and stop by the village pub to chat with the locals. In the evening, come home to the cottage’s wonderful garden and enjoy a glass of wine while the stars come out.

Step inside and you’ll be welcomed by a cheerful open-plan kitchen and dining area. The cottage's uniqueness is further enhanced by its rustic-style interior, with its exposed beams adding real character to the space. Head to the lovely lounge to relax a little before rustling up some dinner in the stylish kitchen. Host a sociable meal at the dining table or head outside to dine alfresco as you watch the sheep and lambs in the neighbouring fields. After dinner, make your way to the cosy snug to warm your feet in front of the glowing wood burner, or grab a good book and enjoy a little peace and quiet in the mezzanine. At the end of the day, there are four beautiful bedrooms waiting for you. You’ll find a twin and a double on the ground floor, and two more gorgeous doubles on the first floor.

Head off on a rewarding hike to Whitbarrow Scar (2.5 miles). Adventure-seekers will love taking the opportunity to go rock climbing, while nature lovers will enjoy spotting peregrine falcons and squirrels. Alternatively, step back in time at Levens Hall (3.5 miles), an Elizabethan mansion surrounded by stunning gardens.

Wonderful family home in a peaceful location. Large, warm kitchen adorned with cheerful Emma Bridgwater pottery. Its worth noting that there are many steps throughout the property, which may prove hazardous for the elderly or toddlers.

A large cottage, with plenty of communal spaces, but still has that cosy feel on an evening. The cottages is equipped with everything you need to cook up a feast or head to one the pubs down the lane for a warm welcome. A Large garden space, which is private and secluded. The location is easy to get to and a great base for Windermere and the coastaRead morel areas of the lakes peninsula's. Hide
