Stay in the heart of Bowness-on-Windermere, where you’ll benefit from convenient nearby amenities while being surrounded by tranquil lakes, historical attractions and the wild landscapes of the Lake District National Park.

Make yourself at home in this characterful cottage and gather with your loved ones in the rectangular neutral-toned lounge/diner with oak beams stretching across the ceiling, plenty of natural light pouring in through the tall window and an eye-catching ornamental fireplace. Behind the sofa and armchairs is a wooden dining set with seating for six. Continue into the bright and traditional kitchen with plenty of surface space on the fitted wooden units and all of the appliances you need to cook a hearty meal for your guests. Climb the stairs to reach a family bathroom and three bedrooms – two doubles, one with an en-suite shower room, and a bunk bedroom. Although this property does not have a garden, the shore of Windermere Lake is within 500 metres.

Start your day by exploring the town of Bowness-on-Windermere and discover the local pub, bar, eateries and the interactive Beatrix Potter Museum (within 0.5 miles). Take to the water by kayak, sailboat or paddleboard from the nearby activity centre (1 mile) or for something more leisurely, hop on a cruise boat tour from Bowness Bay (1 mile). Put on your walking boots and hike along the Dales Way (0.5 miles) or soak up the scenic views from Brant Fell Viewpoint (1.5 miles). Catch the ferry to Far Sawrey and visit the National Trust Claife Viewing Station & Cafe (1.5 miles) – near here is Beatrix Potter’s quaint farmhouse (3 miles).

The cottage is well equipped and in a brilliant location right in the centre of Bowness. Other than the modern bathrooms, the decor is a little tired looking.

Excellent position in the town. Central to variety of pubs restaurants cafes and shops. 100yds from the Lake. Cottage is well appointed sleeps 4 in 2 doubles but sleeping space is a little limited in 2 bunk beds except for children. Spotlessly clean. Parking is tight but adequate. Great value!

Fantastic location I recommend checking out the buses especially if you don't drive or wish to leave the car behind for a day; friendly, helpful locals loads of restaurants Tesco round the corner Sainsbury up in Windermere and of course Booths right by Windermere station. This cottage is definitely not worth the money!It needs a makeover dirty carpets stairs are a big safety hazard.A fire which you are not allowed to use door knobs missing off kitchen cabinets,no numbers on oven dials,2 small wardrobes for possible 4/6 people.so would we recommend it definitely not!!!!

Great location but the property needs some maintenance work to appliances, damp walls and mould in the en suite. General cleanliness could have been to a better standard.

A great property in the centre of Bowness, pubs restaurants and shops all within 50 yards, with its own dedicated parking. Property was spotless, comfortable beds, powerful showers and everything needed for an enjoyable holiday. Entrance Steps and staircase could be a bit challenging for anyone with mobility issues, otherwise highly recommended.
