Spacious interiors and a sizable garden with a BBQ make this bright and homely countryside cottage an ideal base for a family of six plus one canine companion who want to explore the south of the Lake District National Park. You’ll be within easy reach of the coast, two large lakes and an abundance of nature walking trails.
Step inside and find yourself in the light, neutral-toned kitchen/diner, which is kept bright from the natural light pouring in through the over-the-sink window. Glossy cabinets and sparkling surface tops of the fitted U-shaped units create a contemporary feel. After cooking a homemade meal, dine with your loved ones at the table in the centre of the room. Next door is the lounge, which has plenty of floor space for Fido to stretch out in front of the wood burner. Chuck a log on the fire and sink into the plump sofas. There is also a family bathroom and three bedrooms. On the patio outside is some furniture for al fresco dining when the weather permits.
Blow the cobwebs away during your revitalising stay in the south of the Lake District National Park, where you’ll be surrounded by nature reserves, beauty spots and outdoor activities for all levels of experience. Take advantage of the local restaurant (less than 0.5 miles) while staying in the small village of High Newton. Head to the scenic point of Newton Fell (0.5 miles) for a stroll, or for something unusual, you could spend an afternoon meeting the wolves at the Predator Experience (1.5 miles). Venture deeper into the national park to find the expansive Windermere Lake (12 miles) and the Whitbarrow National Nature Reserve (6.5 miles).
