Sleeping four guests, the three-bedroom, single-storey hideaway takes in enchanting views out across the Lowther Valley. A holiday home for all seasons, it comes with a wood burner to toast beside after autumn and winter excursions and a lovely garden for summer days. It also has a sauna. The cottage is 7 miles from Pooley Bridge, where you can catch a steamer and cruise on Ullswater.

Wander inside to find accommodation brimming with character through its beamed ceilings and exposed stone walls. Leave your walking boots and wellies in the entrance hall before heading through to the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner to relax for a spell. Light the wood burner on chilly days, watch your favourite TV programmes and amble over to the kitchen to prepare a tasty meal with ingredients you have bought. You will find everything else you need through here to assist you in your endeavours. Dine together at the table, then stroll through to the conservatory with your coffee to take in the verdant views. Open the doors in here on summer evenings. There is a family bathroom, complete with the rare treat of a sauna, for everyone to share. Make the most of the attractive garden on sunny days. Sit out here with a cup of tea and absorb the beautiful views.

We had a wonderful time at the cottage, exploring the Lakes and visiting Lowther Castle. The cottage was warm and comfortable, with everything that we needed. We especially enjoyed the sauna once the kids were in bed! I would thoroughly recommend the local pub (literally a stones throw away) which was cosy and welcoming.

Excellent cottage, well equipped. The cottage contained all that was needed, the beds were of a good size and very comfortabled. Located in a very small village with a nice friendly pub. Locals were very friendly, and help me out when I needed help. Hi really loved our stay. Very comfortable bed. Saw two red squirrels and really enjoyed the local pub great food and very welcoming.
