Immerse yourselves in the spectacular landscapes of Cumbria and enjoy having the natural beauty of Talkin Tarn right on your doorstep. The scenic lake lies within 25 metres of this stylish retreat, which sleeps up to four guests and offers luxury accommodation, with two bedrooms. The impressive property is one of several select retreats set within a former Victorian hotel. It is 2 miles from Brampton and nestles on the fringes of the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is also 23 miles from the Lake District National Park.

Step inside to discover a gorgeous, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, which has underfloor heating. Spend quality time together in here, preparing magnificent feasts in the chic kitchen area with the Lakeland produce you have sourced, then dining together at the table. Recline on the sumptuous seating in front of a film on the Smart TV during the evening and pull back the bi-folding doors on warm summer days. A utility room and a WC can also be found downstairs. At the end of each memorable day, climb the stairs to either the king-size bedroom, which has an en-suite shower room and a striking, picture window capturing country views, or the twin, with an en-suite bathroom. Sit down to breakfast, lunch and dinner on your private patio during fine weather and stroll about the shared, lawned gardens, which look across the lake.

Enjoy bike rides and long walks and hire boats to take out on the water at Talkin Tarn. Gelt Woods, 2 miles away, is also a must for those who love the great outdoors. Head into Brampton, 2 miles away, to potter in the shops, browse in the market and climb up to the historic motte. Take the opportunity to see Hadrian’s Wall, 5.5 miles away, during your Cumbrian stay.

A beautiful cottage for our Christmas break in a fabulous location. The local parkrun was right on our doorstep which was wonderful for us. There are some great pubs in the area, particularly the Duke of Cumberland.

This is a beautiful cottage with plenty of room for four people. The twin bedroom is a little small I think BUT we only stayed a couple of nights to was sufficient.
