Look over the trees towards magnificent Coniston Water when you stay at this Lake District retreat near Water Yeat. Sleeping six guests, and welcoming canine companions, the three-bedroom apartment is set across two floors of a period house and nestles with other hideaways in acres of gorgeous woodland that guests can explore. It is just 350 metres from Lake Bank pier, where you can take a cruise on Coniston Water.

Enter the building, leaving your shoes in the shared hall if you wish, before making your way up to your private quarters at first-floor level. Find yourselves in a gorgeous lounge/diner, with a beautiful wooden floor and exposed stone walls, where you can take in the picturesque views or light the wood burner and enjoy an hour or two in front of the Smart TV. Sit down at the table in here to tasty feasts whipped up with the fresh Lake District produce you have bought on your excursions. The kitchen, just off the hallway, has everything you need to assist you in this task. A king-size bedroom, with an en-suite bathroom, with spa bath, is also at this level. Spill out into the grounds as often as the weather permits. There is a dog and boot wash out here for use after muddy walks.

Spend time in Ambleside, 13 miles away, with its colourful shops and eateries and access to Windermere. Head to Lakeside, 10.5 miles away, to take a heritage steam train through splendid scenery.

The view from the cottage is lovely and the lake is a short walk away. Its a good location for open water swimming but would recommend the use of a tow float as there are boats moored at Lake Bank. Also a great location for walking. The cottage was clean, comfortable, well equipped and spacious and the owner was very helpful.

Lovely cottage, its location can be tricky to find at first as the sign for Lakebanks is not obvious. Its located between Coniston and Ulverston and you have beautiful views of the mountains and lake Coniston. Great if you want a base from which to just go walking or cycling but if eating out youll need to drive to either Coniston or Ulverston (20 Read moremins). Did feel the place needs a bit of maintenance. Hide

Lovely holiday cottage! The whole place was amazing, lovely lake view from the lounge area. We had a very relaxed stay. So close to the lovely Coniston town and lake.

We loved the views from the cottage and it was located in a great spot for paddle boarding and doing local walks into the surrounding hills and mountains.

WOW! This was just the most perfect week in the perfect place. We were stunned by the lovely views and loads of space in this beautiful property. We also booked another property within lake bank but this one has a separate entrance door which was handy. The house was clean and tidy with everything you need and short walk to the water. Lovely apartment stunning views, well equipped and comfortable. Lovely walks from your doorstep but be aware long way to any shops or pubs so take supplies. Internet is also very slow made watching anything live on the Samsung Plus TV hard work due to constant buffering.

We had a lovely two weeks at Fairfield in Lake bank. Marketta was the perfect host, nothing was too much trouble. The apartment is very well equipped with all you need for your holiday. Fantastic views from the lounge and bedroom. We wouldnt hesitate to go back.

Very comfortable accommodation with a wonderful view of the lake. Owners available by phone to answer any queries. Be aware there are no local shops at hand!
