Nestled in the heart of the quaint village of Satterthwaite, the charm and character of this lovingly renovated former stable building will transport you to centuries past. This is the ultimate cosy bolthole that’s perfect for a romantic couple’s getaway, surrounded by the true natural beauty of the Lake District.

At the end of a long day, there’s no better welcome for weary walking muscles than the roaring wood burner and delightfully warm ambience of the cosy lounge. Cuddle up on the plush sofa and catch up with your favourite programme on the Smart TV or simply sit back and admire the feature ceiling beams and rustic décor. As the evening draws in, grab your local produce and head into the kitchen/diner to rustle up a hearty feast to enjoy before bedtime or as tomorrow’s picnic. The characterful king-size bedroom is dressed with plenty of homely touches and crisp linens that’ll lull you into a peaceful night’s rest before tomorrow’s adventure. Soak up the sounds of the nearby stream and resident wildlife as you dine alfresco on the patio in the enclosed lawned garden.

A hidden gem, the quaint, sleepy village of Satterthwaite boasts a popular local pub and offers easy access to scenic, sun-dappled walks in Grizedale Forest, 3 miles away. Keen walkers can climb to the summit of nearby Carron Crag (2.5 miles) to be rewarded with fabulous panoramic views of the southern Lake District, whilst the cycling routes, sculpture trail and Go-Ape climbing centre at Grizedale Forest offer a thrilling escape for keen outdoor adventurers. The idyllic nearby Tarn Hows (6.5 miles) is the perfect place for a picnic. A trip to this wonderful spot would not be complete without a peaceful cruise along Lake Windermere aboard a traditional steamer from Bowness-On-Windermere, 14.5 miles away.

This is a beautiful holiday cottage with plenty of amenities. We brought a pan just in case as we planned to cook for ourselves but we really didn't need it. Lovely week in a cosy comfortable and well equipped cottage. We loved the log fire and the accommodation was bigger and better than the photographs. Our Labrador Lexi loved the close proximity of the walk to Grizedale forest. Really fantastic property in a great location - walks into Grizedale Forest from the door step! Good pub just round the corner. - ate there twice during our stay. We left something personal behind and the owners went out of their way to retrieve it. Would recommend this property to anyone wanting to explore this area.

We enjoyed our stay in this comfortable well equipped little cottage. Satterthwaite is very remote but that suited us. There are lovely walks nearby into the Grizedale forest. Nearest shop is in Hawkeshead a few miles away. Coniston and Windermere not too far away.

Beautiful cottage, which is a great location for walking around Grizedale forest with the dog. The patio is perfectly placed to enjoy watching the sun go down on a warm sunny day. The cottage is spacious and well equiped and a stone throw away from the Eagles Head Pub who offer good beer and excellent pizza.
