Dubwath Silver Meadows Nature Reserve and Bassenthwaite Lake Station are within half a mile, making this a great base for nature spotting, sailing, rowing, kayaking, canoeing, fishing and paddleboarding. The Lakes Distillery (1 mile) and Lake District Wildlife Park (2 miles) are north of Bassenthwaite Lake, with Mirehouse and Gardens (5.5 miles) on the way to the thriving town of Keswick at the head of Derwentwater (8 miles).
