Located in the market town of Keswick, this stylish cottage is ideal for a couple and their four-legged friends looking for a restful holiday with easy access to the Northern Lakes. Keswick offers a great selection of independent shops and a cinema. Stroll through Crow Park, enjoy a bite to eat at a lakeside restaurant, or catch a show at the Theatre by the Lake, all less than a mile away. Walk along the disused Keswick to Threlkeld Railway track or head up to the Neolithic stones at Castlerigg (2 miles).

This pretty cottage, set over two levels, is the perfect place to enjoy a romantic getaway, and you will see why as soon as you arrive at the front door. The welcoming open-plan lounge/diner presents a comfortable sofa to snuggle on and a wood burner-effect electric fire to create a cosy ambience while watching your favourite box set on the Smart TV. The dining area is spacious and has a breakfast bar with seating for two, while the bright and compact kitchen offers everything you need to rustle up some romantic meals or a picnic. A cottage-style staircase leads up to the first floor where there is a spacious double bedroom with a contemporary bathroom. Although the property does not offer an outside space, there are many lakeside walks to enjoy half a mile from your front door and two fantastic parks to take your canine pals.

Derwentwater (0.5 miles) and Bassenthwaite (4 miles) offer a great selection of fells and Wainwrights to tackle in the local area or walk the circular route around Bassenthwaite. Whinlatter Forest, with its fantastic bike tracks and walks for all abilities, is less than 5 miles away. And for water sports enthusiasts, if you want to take to the water kayaking, paddleboarding or relax on a steamer, then Ullswater (15.5 miles) is a must-visit.

Perfect location, lovely decor, clean and lovely views. Microwave oven was easy to use but we only found a grill/microwave setting. May be worth planning meals to be cooked stovetop if staying and wanting to cook in. This was a lovely holiday for the two of us and our spaniel. Will definitely return.

Lovely bolt hole. Perfect position in Keswick for town , Derwentwater, Catbells and surrounding mountains. Parking an issue generally. We left a parking disc in the property to assist future guests for a few hours .. discs are free but not easy to locate. Cottage Semi detached but no noise from adjoining property . No garden, but popping out for quRead moreick walks with the dog no issue. Hide

A really great week, Keswick is excellent and Garnet Cottage is nicely located to do many different things within walking distance, or a good base to look further a field from. A lovely property close enough to the town centre and with sufficient on road parking. Small, but well presented and enough for an outdoor type couple. Really enjoyed our stay and will be staying again in the future.

We stayed here for a week - 2 adults and 1 small dog. Overall we did enjoy our stay, we were a little apprehensive about what it was going to be like as no pictures were available. The location is great. The cottage overall was nice and was clean however we felt like some of the facilities could be improved especially in the kitchen and a bigger soRead morefa in the sitting room. The combined oven/microwave was a bit difficult to use and we ended up eating out more than normal due to this. Hide
