Located in a quiet countryside location on the northern edge of the Lake District National Park, this contemporary duplex apartment is ideal for couples looking for a rural bolthole. You’ll never tire of the breathtaking views of the Cumbrian fells, the closest of which is Blencathra (7 miles). Occupying a spot on a village holiday resort, you have access to their shared facilities including a heated swimming pool, gym, sauna and games room. There’s also a pub/restaurant on site. Should you want to venture further afield, the market towns of Keswick and Penrith are within 10 miles.

Clean and contemporary throughout, this purpose-built holiday home promises a comfortable and relaxing stay. On entering, discard shoes and coats in the convenient hall, before heading into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Here, you’ll find plenty of space for you to cook, dine and relax together. There is one well-presented king-size bedroom with a TV, and a bathroom with his-and-her basins. In the warmer months, throw open the French doors in the lounge and dine alfresco on the balcony whilst admiring the unbridled view.

Ideally situated for the Northern Lakes, you can enjoy gentle lakeside strolls or attempt a strenuous hike, with Blencathra, Helvellyn and Skiddaw all within 15 miles. Nestled on the shores of Derwentwater, Keswick (10 miles) is a charming town with a range of independent shops, particularly those selling outdoor gear, and nearby is Derwentwater where you take a boat ride or wander down to Friar’s Crag to admire the view. For a ride on a traditional steamer with stunning views, head to Ullswater (8.5 miles). Pooley Bridge (8.5 miles) at the northern end is a good starting point, with a range of eateries to choose from.

Brilliant facilities and friendly staff. Great location just off the A66. Apple Maps may try to take you here via a farmyard so be wary and follow the instructions on this site!

Good little apartment for 1 or 2. Whitbartow village has swimming pool / putting etc, easy to get to Keswick / hills. The hob is 2 ring, oven is a small counter top one - would be difficult to cook a complicated meal. Cooker and microwave use same plug socket so can only use one at a time. Bed very comfy, if you're into needlework - light is betterRead more in the bedroom. Lounge / kitchen / dining all one room with doors to balcony.
