The market town of Sedbergh offers wonderful walks through the dale, along the river or onto Howgill Fells. This cosy cottage is perfect for friends with four-legged friends looking for an active holiday. The natural and cultural attractions of the Yorkshire Dales to the east, and the Lake District National Park to the west, are within easy driving distance. This charming cottage is located within one of Sedbergh's old commercial yards, just off the high street, in a courtyard of three similar properties.

Inside, the cottage has a welcoming feel throughout, with a wood burner in the snug area, soft tones and contemporary furnishings. Reached via a few steps from the parking area, you step into the delightful snug next to a lounge with two comfortable sofas and a Smart TV – so there is plenty of space for everyone to relax and socialise. The dining area is set neatly in one corner of the lounge, which is perfectly positioned for accessing the stylish, equipped kitchen with a wooden floor. A cottage-style staircase leads to the first floor, where you'll find a super-king-size bedroom with an en-suite shower room, a second super-king-size bedroom, and a bathroom along the hall. Outside, is a lovely patio area with garden furniture where you can enjoy your morning coffee while you plan your day or sip a cool drink on your return.

Hawes, 9 miles to the east, is superb for a day out looking around shops, trying local, traditional pubs and walking. Bowness-on-Windermere (20 miles) to the west in the Lake District and Cautley Spout (4.5 miles) are two other scenic days out.

  • 2 bedrooms – super-king-size

What a beautiful cottage! Spotlessly clean, really comfortable super king size Emma beds, fantastic shower, and a Nespresso machine. Set in a brilliant location, just off the high street and really quiet. Some great pubs just a few yards away. We were here to celebrate a birthday. A lovely cosy cottage fully fitted out with quality items. A good position too, with easy access to all the facilities of Sedbergh. We can highly recommend the sausages from The Meat Locker just round the corner. Overall an excellent stay.

We found the cottage to be well presented and comfortable. It was a perfect size for us and the dog. We really loved the snug with the wood burner on. The bed was also super comfy. A cosy cottage and a good base for both the Lakes and Dales. Well equipped, modern kitchen with decent sharp knives (a rarity!). Handy to have parking outside the front door too. Loved the large shower with raindance shower head and comfy bed. The Red Lion does a great Sunday Roast and Evening meals (with half price cask ales on a Mmon night). The cottage was very clean and modern. Good location. Access driveway a little awkward but this was mentioned before we arrived. We could not find any extra bedding as was stated but it did not stop us enjoying the stay . Would recommend it to others.

The cottage was lovely and has so many plus points, but unfortunately also a number of negative points. Toilet in en-suite had black scum around the water-line and wasn't clean. Could do with a drier to hang up your washing after using the machine, No instructions available on how to use the washing machine/oven. Knife block in the kitchen had rustRead morey knives in it. Towels weren't great, had rust marks and not very fluffy (needed replaced). Mirror in master room was too high and too far from plug. Hide
