The cottage is in the lovely village of Newby Bridge, under a mile from Lake Windermere. There are lots of great activities and attractions nearby and it’s close to the towns of Bowness-on-Windermere, Hawkshead and Kendal. It’s perfect for a family looking for a very comfortable place to stay; it has a gorgeous patio with lovely views of the fells and a steam railway runs along the bottom of the garden.
This lovely, light, and bright railway cottage has ample living space for a family of four or a couple who like to have extra space. The lounge is ideal for relaxing, with muted tones, comfy sofas, and a Smart TV. The beautiful contemporary kitchen/diner has everything you need to cook up and devour a lovely meal, and there’s also a utility area with a microwave, washing machine, and fridge/freezer. Upstairs are two bedrooms, a comfortable double and a cosy bunk room which is ideal for kids. The sunny garden has stunning countryside views and overlooks historic steam trains as they roll past.
The cottage is at the southern end of Windermere, England’s largest lake, less than a mile from the lakeside. Explore Windermere on a cruise, take a steamer trip to Bowness (8 miles away) or hire a motorboat. You can try all sorts of water sports too, including paddleboarding, canoeing, kayaking, and sailing. Hawkshead (9 miles away) has lovely shops, pubs, and walks, and Grizedale Forest is 8 miles away with forest trails you can tackle on foot or by bike. It’s also home to Go Ape treetop courses and a children’s play area. Lakes Aquarium is 1 mile away, Lakeland Wildlife Oasis is 13 miles away or go on a nostalgic train ride on the Lakeside and Haverthwaite railway which runs past the cottage.
