Sleeping seven people over four bedrooms and welcoming two canine companions, it’s a superb accommodation option for large families or groups of friends who want to hike and bike by day, and sample the town’s restaurants each night. Step inside and head through to the lounge to make yourself at home and check out the view through the bay window. Later, make your way to the open-plan kitchen/diner to rustle up some dinner for your loved ones. Get everyone together to eat at the table in the dining area, before heading out to the quaint enclosed yard to enjoy a glass of wine and watch the stars come out. Alternatively, make your way to the lounge to put your feet up in front of the electric fire, or head to the cosy snug on the first floor to challenge your loved ones to a board game tournament. When it’s time for bed, you’ll find two lovely bedrooms on the first floor and two more on the second floor.
Skiddaw is one of the top hiking destinations in the Lake District. Start your 6-mile circular route at Underskiddaw (11 miles) and you’ll enjoy an amazing journey that takes you to the summit of England’s 6th highest peak. Alternatively, take a gentle stroll down to Derwentwater (0.5 miles), where you can hop on a boat cruise. Or treat yourself to a show at the Theatre by the Lake (1 mile), before checking out Keswick’s lively culinary scene.
