Previously the village pub now transformed into a cosy cottage with original features and thoughtful styling. Explore the lakes and fells on foot or by bike, there are some fabulous walks and quiet country roads to explore.

This charming property, situated just 5.5 miles from Penrith, is the perfect bolthole for families or couples to explore the beautiful Lake District. Spacious and welcoming with exposed wood beams throughout, this holiday home is an opportunity to embrace the countryside, safe in the knowledge that you’ve got a relaxing haven to return to in the evenings. Spend the day exploring the trails at Aira Force waterfall (10 miles), or take the walk to Greystoke Castle grounds (2 miles) and stop at the pub for a hearty meal before heading home.

The property, which sleeps five across three peaceful bedrooms and even has space for two dogs, has a pleasant, cosy feel. The open-plan living area is fresh and bright with stylish lighting and large windows, but draw the blinds at night and curl up on the sofas in front of the wood burner-style electric fire and it becomes the ideal little den to wind down in. Upstairs, tranquil decor in the bedrooms promise a good night’s sleep; wake up refreshed and ready to take on the day, but not before preparing a delicious breakfast in the kitchen that has everything you need to cook up a storm!

Take the kids to Abbott Lodge (9.5 miles) which produces over 30 flavours of Jersey ice cream and has 16 types available at any one time! They will love meeting the cows and calves in the field and there are play areas available too. The Derwent Pencil Museum in Keswick (15.5 miles) is also well worth a visit, as is the rest of the town where you’ll find plenty of independent shops and galleries. And if you’re looking for a challenge, tackle the ridges of Helvellyn, starting from Patterdale (13.5 miles).

This is a lovely cottage set in a small quiet hamlet but in easy driving distance of the Lakes. Everything was very clean and well equipped. Had a really good stay and would definitely recommend.

A lovely, clean and comfortable cottage (with off road parking) in a quiet village 10 minutes from Penrith. The location was brilliant for exploring the Lakes. Would definitely recommend.

A very comfortable, clean and modern property which is ideally situated for access to a wide range of places to visit. Despite there being no garden, we exercised our dog on the grassy area opposite the property and down by the nearby river - a 2 minute walk away. Take a torch! Traffic passes right past the front door but we didn't notice it too muRead morech as it is a quiet village. As with many holiday properties, dogs are not allowed upstairs and there is a fitted barrier/stairgate for this purpose. Hide

What a beautiful cottage. We have just returned from a glorious weekend here, the cottage was very clean, well equipped and in a great location. We loved the little extra touches such as eggs and milk in the fridge, an Alexa to play music and a teddy in the kids room. We would like to return again later in the year. Thank you for a lovely stay.

The property is beautiful, well equipped and warm and cozy. It is easy to access from the M6 which is a huge advantage. 20 min drive to Ullswater, Aira Force and Scotland! This location was so useful. The endless hot water came as a very welcome way to warm up after brilliant days exploring lakes and climbing mountains! Very highly recommended.
