This cosy stone-built cottage is ideal for a couple’s retreat located in the heart of the Lakes with everything you need nearby.
Located in central Keswick, this pretty cottage is close to lots of fantastic places to go out and eat out in town. You can live without the car for the week if you like too as there are heaps of activities and attractions nearby and a very good local bus service if you want to head further afield.
Cosy and charming, the cottage has a relaxed vibe with stylish interiors throughout, perfect for a romantic holiday. The living space is gorgeous, light, and bright, with plenty of space to kick back and relax together on the comfy sofa in front of the fire. Or take your drinks outside to enjoy them on the patio as the sun goes down. The bedroom is also a lovely space to relax with a luxurious super-king bed, attractive furniture, and a pretty, ornamental fireplace. The contemporary bathroom is simply gorgeous, with a bath and a shower over.
Keswick, known as the adventure capital of the UK, has lots of shops, pubs, cafes, and restaurants, and is perfectly placed for exploring the Lakes. The house is about 1 mile from Derwentwater, where you’ll find mirror glass water on a still day against the stunning backdrop of the fells. There are pretty walks around the lake, including a quick 0.5-mile route up to Friar’s Crag viewpoint starting at Moot Hall. Catch a boat to Hawes then follow the trail up Cat Bells for a more challenging hike (well worth it for the views). Hire a motorboat or a rowing boat to tour the lake or have fun exploring on a paddleboard or kayak. You can also go rock climbing or caving nearby, visit the distillery on the north shore at Bassenthwaite (7 miles away) or the craft brewery in town for a drink.
