Spacious bungalow set in a pretty village, with open countryside and wildlife on the doorstep and country pubs and restaurants within 3 miles.
Unwind at this spacious bungalow sitting between the dramatic peaks of the Lake District and the wide-open vistas of the Solway Firth. Sleeping five people over three bedrooms, this beautiful home in Westnewton is a great accommodation option for families or groups of friends who want to stroll along the Solway Firth’s beaches or hike in the Lake District by day, and spend their evenings soothing their well-stretched legs in the bungalow’s private hot tub or warming their toes by its wood burner-effect electric fire.
Step inside this charming bungalow and head to the stylish kitchen to cook up a storm for your loved ones. Get the whole gang together at the dining table to eat, or step outside into the enclosed garden to dine alfresco. After dinner, make yourself comfortable in the swinging chair and spend a little time watching the lambs play in the adjacent fields, or crack open a bottle of something fizzy and take a well-earned dip in the private hot tub. Alternatively, head in to the lounge and stretch out in front of the wood burner-effect fire. When the day is done, you’ll find three tasteful bedrooms towards the front of the bungalow.
Grab your binoculars and go bird-watching at the Solway Firth. You may be lucky enough to spot oystercatchers, redshanks or whooper swans. Good places to spot birds include Silloth Public Car Park (8 miles) and Workington Harbour (14.5 miles). Alternatively, head into the lovely market town of Cockermouth (11 miles) to visit the castle and the house where William Wordsworth was born. Stop off to sample a beer or two at Jennings Brewery while you’re there. Or make your way into Keswick on a Saturday or Thursday to browse the town’s market, which dates all the way back to 1276.
