This attractive house is ideal for families or groups of friends looking for a restful base from which to enjoy an active holiday exploring the best of the Lake District. With so much to do on your doorstep, leave the car and head out on foot. Stroll down to the lake shores of Derwentwater (0.5 miles), catch the launch across the lake, or hike up Catbells, popular with walkers of all ages and abilities. Explore the shops, galleries, and the theatre that vibrant Keswick offers.

This lovely property retains a cottage feel while boasting contemporary comforts that invite you to unwind from your everyday cares. The hall has original flooring leading to the downstairs open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The lounge has plenty of seating and is ideal for relaxing, watching the Smart TV or reflecting on the day’s activities and planning for tomorrow. A large, open-plan kitchen with picnic bench dining is a lovely social space for drinks, games, and good conversation. The kitchen has all you need to whip up some hearty meals to enjoy after a day of activity. On the first floor is a contemporary bathroom, a double bedroom and a bunk bedroom. The second floor offers a super-king-size bedroom with an adjacent shower room. Head outside from the utility room to enjoy the small, enclosed yard which is the perfect place to sip a morning brew or enjoy evening drinks.

There is an abundance of outdoor activities to enjoy whether you want to hike at the atmospheric Neolithic Castlerigg Stone Circle (1.5 miles), follow the old railway line between Keswick to Threlkeld, which has access for all and runs for 5 km in one direction or enjoy water sports such as kayaking, canoeing, paddleboarding, or swimming in Bassenthwaite or Derwentwater. Head to Wordsworth House and Gardens (14 miles) on rainy days with its daily children’s trail.

Gorgeous house with a very special vibe. Well appointed and in close proximity to Lake, town and parks with great walks from the doorstep. Added bonus of a shed for bikes. Great holiday base.. Would recommend!

The location of the house was ideal for our break in the Lake District. The house was well furnished and excellent for our family group of 4 people. However the 1st floor shower was not usable for more than a few minutes before the tray filled up and from the water marks on the kitchen ceiling this looks to be an ongoing problem. (Due to the risk oRead moref flooding we notified the management company that we wouldn't be using this shower but disappointed not to receive an acknowledgement). Hide

Lovely place to stay, very comfortable beds, and was nice and clean. Parking on road wasnt an issue we always found a place outside or close by. Easy walk into town centre or the lake.

Warm and clean house but a little rough around the edges. I would expect better at this price point. The blinds in the master bedroom don't really keep the sun out which was quite annoying on our summer holiday.

Great location as its very close to town centre (very easy walk of less than 10 minutes) however just far enough out to be nice and quiet. Very easy to park on all days except Saturday and Sunday which can be busy.

This is a real find compared to many of the cottages & houses were have stayed in before. Quality fittings, good taste and really happy with the stay here. We visit twice a year and this is by far the best value and most comfortable we have been in this price bracket. Super place!

Our small family group of three adults enjoyed our stay at this spacious, characterful house. It has been tastefully modernised with two lovely large bathrooms. These just needed toiletry shelves. The nice kitchen had a huge range cooker with limited worktop space. We dined out so not a problem for us Not everyone bothers about TV on holiday but weRead more were disappointed to find it was smart TV only, catch-up and Netflix etc. Needs a digital aeriel for live TV that we missed in the evening.
