Traditional Lakeland stone terrace house, on a quiet road, just 500 yards from the centre of Keswick. Lots of local amenities on your doorstep offering a great base to explore the Lakes.
Escape with your loved ones to this cheerful, stone terrace house in the ‘Adventure Capital’ of Keswick. Sitting on a quite road just outside the town centre, this traditional Lakeland home is light and bright throughout, sleeps six people over three bedrooms, and welcomes two canine companions. It’s the perfect accommodation option for families or groups of friends who want to spend their days hiking at Skiddaw or kayaking at Derwentwater, and their evenings enjoying the property’s garden or rubbing shoulders with the locals in the town’s friendly pubs.
Step inside and you’ll find a hallway where you can kick off your muddy boots. Head to the welcoming kitchen and get busy rustling up some dinner for your nearest and dearest. Get the whole gang together to eat at the large table in the open-plan lounge/diner, before heading out into the garden to sip a glass of wine beside the water feature and watch the stars come out. Alternatively, make your way to the lounge area to watch your favourite movie by the glowing wood burner. At the end of the day, you’ll find two lovely bedrooms on the first-floor and one on the second. Choose the second-floor bedroom and you’ll wake up to stunning views across the town and fells.
If you’re in the mood for adventure, head to Blencathra (6.5 miles) for ghyll-scrambling, rock-climbing or abseiling. If you’re a hardcore hiker, you’ll adore the challenging climb up to Blencathra’s Sharp Edge (there’s a 5-mile loop trail). If you’re looking for a gentler way to stretch your legs, take a stroll at the Neolithic stone circle at Castlerigg (1.5 miles), or for something a little more sociable, head into Keswick (0.5 mile) for the evening, where you’ll find plenty of friendly pubs and restaurants to enjoy.
