Picture postcard cottage with lots of character and charm situated across from a beck, located in the centre of the village with local amenities on your doorstep.
This three-bed cottage is beautiful inside and out and just the place to kick back and relax on a family or friends’ holiday in the tranquil village of Caldbeck, just within the northern boundary of the Lake District National Park. It’s stylishly kitted out, retaining period and rustic features – such as beams, slate floors and a wood burner – with a pared-back chic that still affords the utmost comfort for a luxury break. It even comes complete with a babbling stream in the garden, which any dogs will adore.
This cottage retains bags of character but also exudes charisma, having been thoughtfully renovated to an extremely high standard. The generous lounge flows through to an open-plan kitchen/diner. Beams and heated slate floors run throughout, with inviting leather sofas around a wood burner in the lounge. There’s a rustic-style table and modern chairs easily seating six where you can eat those holiday feasts cooked up in the contemporary kitchen. Upstairs, you have the choice of a super-king-size bedroom (that can be a twin by arrangement), a king-size and a twin. They all offer calming spaces with comfortable beds and neutral decor for a great night’s sleep. There’s plenty of outdoor space with a private patio suntrap area as well as a lawned front garden complete with a beck overlooking the village.
Get your boots on and hit the many walking and cycling trails from the village; go as far as The Howk limestone gorge with waterfalls and old mill ruins or much further afield if you’re feeling energetic. The village pub serves home-cooked food and welcomes dogs if you fancy a night off cooking. The Lake District is at your disposal so you can explore small towns and fells – why not climb Skiddaw which is 14.5 miles away or admire Bassenthwaite Lake, just 11.5 miles?
