Sleeping four guests, and also welcoming one happy hound, the two-bedroom village property presents character features, such as stonework and beams, and yet is also a comfortable retreat for anyone eager to escape to this beautiful part of the world. Plan days out to Lake Windermere, 7 miles away, or to the coast at Grange-over-Sands, 3.5 miles from the cottage. Head back afterwards to take your cup of tea out into the fresh air and gaze out over the River Eea.
Unload your luggage, usher your family and friends inside and take any delicious, local produce you have stopped for on the way over to the kitchen area. The heart of this holiday home is the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, where you can spread out and relax. Prepare hearty holiday feasts then dine together at the table; watch TV or enjoy the waterside views. When day turns to night, make your way up to the first floor. Choose between the double bedroom and the king-size, and perhaps soak in a hot bath in the family bathroom before bed. There is space to store bikes behind the cottage, while the seating area to the front of the property is ideal for morning coffee.
Venture 8 miles from the cottage to Lakeside to catch a cruise out on spectacular Lake Windermere. Disembark at Waterhead to walk 1 mile into Ambleside and find somewhere to enjoy a delicious lunch. Alternatively, take it easy with a carriage ride up to the town. From Lakeside, you can also take a steam train along the heritage Lakeside and Haverthwaite railway, another fantastic way to enjoy the picturesque landscape at your leisure.
