Book a stay in this delightful stone cottage in the quiet Cumbrian village of Glenridding and have a Lakeland holiday to remember. Sleeping four guests, and also welcoming one canine companion, the two-bedroom retreat is in an exceptional position for anyone seeking fabulous fell and lakeside walks. Make the most of your proximity to enchanting Ullswater by taking a steamboat cruise on the lake or hiring a motorboat, rowing boat or canoe. Return home afterwards to bask in the sunshine of the cottage garden in the summer or to light the wood burner for cosy evenings in.
Open the door to this exquisite abode and wander inside to discover an airy kitchen/diner, complete with a useful washing machine and tumble dryer for whizzing through walking gear. Unpack your shopping, start preparing dinner then lay the table and call everyone through. Afterwards, make your way into the lounge to stoke up the wood burner, find a film on the TV with Sky box sets, or listen to music through the Sonos system. When you are ready for bed, climb the stairs to run yourself a bubble bath in the roll-top bath. Lay your head in either the twin bedroom or the king-size, with an extra z-bed for youngsters under 12 (at a supplementary cost). Spill out into the south-facing garden on warm days; have a cup of tea here and enjoy the tranquillity. You have parking for one small-to-medium car about 15 metres from the cottage.
Pick up the Ullswater Way, a 20-mile route going right around the lake, and follow it for a spell to immerse yourselves in the glorious scenery. Visit magical Aira Force Waterfall, about 3 miles away. Have a day out in Keswick, 16 miles away, to browse in independent shops and galleries and dine out.
