Perfect for a family or friend group, this attractive, bright and airy property is located between Derwentwater and Bassenthwaite Lake, and offers light and welcoming holiday accommodation for up to six guests.
This is a wonderful, detached bungalow, offering spacious and beautifully presented accommodation for up to six people and two dogs. The modern kitchen is well equipped, and the large living-dining room is bright and inviting. There are three fantastic bedrooms, two king-size and a twin. One of the king-size bedrooms has its own en-suite shower room, and a great family shower room too. At the front of the cottage is parking for three/four cars at the front of the cottage and a delightful garden to the rear.
This lovely bungalow is accessible throughout for most wheelchairs with ramp to the side of the front door and a wet room-style, accessible shower in the en-suite bathroom.
Tucked away from the hustle and bustle but still just a pleasant 10-minute level walk into town, you really have got the best of both worlds here. Stroll into town and spend a morning looking around the shops or visit the world-famous Pencil Museum, just a 5-minute walk from the cottage. If you fancy an evening out, there is a wide choice of eateries to try, from traditional pubs to quirky restaurants offering signature cocktails alongside their delicious food. Take in a performance at the Theatre by the Lake or watch a film at the Alhambra Cinema.
With fantastic walking opportunities from the door, you could try a different route every day without even having to get in the car. Scramble up Catbells or Walla Cragg, or tackle the popular Coledale Horseshoe for a longer day out on the fell tops. There are plenty of lower levels walks too; enjoy a ramble through the trees at Great Wood or follow the footpath to the neighbouring village of Portinscale where you can refuel with homemade treats from The Chalet Tea Rooms or The Lingholm Estate. Adrenaline junkies can sign up for an activity with one of the local adventure companies, or for those who prefer a more leisurely pace, a scenic cruise around Derwentwater could be just the thing.
The front door of this property can be accessed either via three stone steps or a ramp to the side of the property. Inside, the rooms are all located off the central hallway, making the cottage very easy to live in. The stylish kitchen is well equipped with a built-in gas oven and separate gas hobs, useful washing machine and handy microwave. The kitchen sink looks out over the pretty rear garden but there's also a dishwasher if you fancy a night off! Opposite the little breakfast table is a large map of The Lakes, perfect for planning your day's adventures over your first morning cuppa.
Next to the kitchen is spacious living-dining room. Gather round the oval dining table and catch up on the day's events before moving seamlessly to the living area at the other end of the room. There's an inviting corner sofa, a two-seater sofa and a cosy armchair to choose from here, along with a wall-mounted TV for entertainment. The large bay window and French doors overlook the rear garden, flooding this space with plenty of natural light.
The cottage has three beautiful bedrooms to choose from. The master bedroom has a pretty metal-framed king-size bed, perfect for indulging in a long lie in. The tucked away hanging rail and chest of drawers provide plenty of storage, and there's also a charming matching dressing table and stool. This bedroom has its own en-suite shower room, which has a WC, washbasin and walk-in shower that is accessible for wheelchair users.
Next up is another king-size bedroom. Light, bright and airy, this room is just as lovely as the first. Again, there's plenty of storage thanks to the built-in unit and wooden chest of drawers. The ceiling-height bookshelves are sure to please any book worm and the armchairs in front of the picture window are perfectly placed for catching up with a good book. Last but by no means least is the delightful twin room, which has a lovely view over the rooftops to the fells beyond.
The modern family shower room has a WC, washbasin and large shower enclosure.
Outside to the rear of the cottage is a wonderful, enclosed garden. By the back door is a raised patio area with table and chairs - a perfect spot for dining alfresco. The lawn, down a couple of steps from the patio, is surrounded by beautiful planting, and there's a charming pergola tucked in one corner, the ideal place to relax and unwind from the stresses of everyday life.
To the front of the cottage is a private driveway with space for three/four cars. There's also a small car port to the side of the cottage which could be used for storing bikes; please note that, though this area is covered, it is open so you'll need to bring your own secure bike locks if you'd like to leave your bikes here.
