  • A delightful apartment for two, close to the heart of Penrith
  • Imaginatively renovated and featuring incredible far-reaching views
  • Central base for exploring both the Lake District and North Pennines
Property code: SZ003

Occupying the upper floors of a beautiful Victorian townhouse, this light and tastefully decorated apartment makes a great holiday base for a couple exploring the Lake District and the North Pennines.

This is a fantastic apartment in the quiet New Streets conservation area of Penrith, just a short walk from the centre of the bustling town. The accommodation is laid out over the second and third floors of a beautiful Victorian townhouse; from its elevated position, the apartment has wonderful views over the neighbouring rooftops to the fells beyond. Head up the communal stairs to the second floor and you'll find the kitchen, king-size bedroom and shower room, whilst the dining room and living room can be found on the third floor - really making the most of the stunning views on offer.

Penrith is an historic market town with a great selection of shops and eateries. The ruins of Penrith Castle are sure to intrigue history fans, as is the Penrith Museum and Tourist Centre in the middle of town. A walk up to Penrith Beacon is a must for stunning views over the area. Visit Brougham Castle, once written about by Lakes poet William Wordsworth, and the historic houses at Dalemain and Hutton-in-the-Forest, or treat yourselves to a spa day at the North Lakes Hotel. Penrith also has its own station and there are plenty of bus stops throughout the town, making it a great choice if you're travelling by public transport.

With both the beautiful Eden Valley and the picturesque Lake District within easy reach, there are plenty of fantastic walking opportunities to be found close by. Head up nearby Askham Fell for stunning views of Ullswater. If you'd prefer to be closer to the water, why not hire a boat, or the well prepared can try some wild swimming? You can always hitch a ride on the stately steamer if you'd rather somebody else did the hard work! Enjoy a walk along the peaceful River Eamont or explore the beautiful Lowther Valley.

From the communal entrance hallway, head up two flights of stairs to find the property - a lovely apartment for two just a short walk from the centre of Penrith. Laid out over the second and third floors, the accommodation is spacious but home-like, with stunning views over the rooftops to the Lakeland Fells beyond.

On entering the apartment on the second floor, the first room you to come to is the great, newly fitted kitchen. Well equipped, in here you'll find an electric oven and induction hob, fridge-freezer, handy microwave and useful dishwasher. There's also a washing machine should you wish to make use of that during your stay.

Also on this floor is the lovely bedroom. With a king-size bed, why not indulge in a long lie? You are on holiday after all! The shower room has a WC, washbasin and modern shower cubicle, perfect for refreshing tired muscles after a day out exploring.

Onwards and upwards to the third floor where you'll find the rest of the living accommodation. Located in the eaves, the rooms up here do have slightly limited head room but are still lovely and bright thanks to the large Velux windows up here. The dining area is the ideal spot for sociable mealtimes and the cosy living room is perfect for relaxing evenings in. The views from the living room over the rooftops to the fells beyond are simply stunning; there's also a flat screen TV with Blu-Ray player and HDMI ports for entertainment - if you can tear yourself away from the view that is!

On street parking is available close to the apartment.

Pleasant place to stay. Over 30 steps up to the apartment & more to head upstairs to sitting room. Worth it for the view though. Clean & well presented. Kitchen a little overstocked. Need space for provisions.

We had an awesome holiday. The property itself was well located for all the amenities of Penrith. We got parked ok on the road outside the property. Very well equipped. Awesome views from the dining and living rooms. Would definitely come back to this property when we are next in the area.

Lovely flat has everything you will need for your stay. We had our 2 frenchies with us but there 53 stairs from the front door to the sofa and no accessible garden so we had to walk to bottom of street to get some grass for toilet breaks which was not ideal but was a great location to go out and about exploring the Lake District etc

We loved the location of the apartment as it's in a beautiful scenic part of the town and the views are wonderful. Very comfy bed too! The only issue was the pet hairs everywhere and the poor cleanliness of the kitchenware. We were struck by a musty odour when we entered the apartment and walking around just in the normal course of the day meant beRead moreing covered in dog hairs and constantly having the pick them off our clothing before we went out. It wasn't a huge issue but it wasn't ideal. Hide

I chose to stay at Inglewood Terrace for my first holiday in 20 years and it did not disappoint. The views from the top floor are amazing and do motivate you to get up and take a hike up one of many peaks in view. A short walk up street gives you access to the beacon trail, a walk down the hill gets you into the heart of Penrith, and a short 15 minRead moreute drive gets you to Ullswater Lake, Aira Force, Lowther Castle and more. Recommended and would stay here again 100%. Hide

Lovely place to stay. Fantastic views from sitting room window. We found bus and railway station within easy walking distance but railway may be a bit far if you are not a keen walker. Short walk into town. Property on a steep hill hence the lovely views but we didnt find it a problem.
