Wonderful property that’s perfect for family or friends holidaying together, just a short walk from Keswick town centre with the many wonders of the Lake District to discover close by.
This is a lovely cottage; tucked away from the hustle and bustle, but within a short stroll of the centre of Keswick and with a wealth of fantastic walks on offer straight from the door. Inside you'll find welcoming accommodation for four people. There's a well equipped kitchen, spacious living/dining room and a bright sun room on the ground floor. Upstairs on the first floor are the two bedrooms, a double and a twin, and the family bathroom. To the rear is a delightful cottage garden, with access to the park and River Greta beyond which make this a lovely base for your holiday in Keswick.
Thanks to its convenient location, the centre of Keswick is just a 5-minute walk away where you can indulge in some retail therapy, visit the town's famous Pencil Museum or why not enjoy an evening out at the family owned Alhambra Cinema or renowned Theatre by the Lake? Keswick has a great selection of eateries, from quirky cafes, friendly pubs and brunch bars - you could try a different one every day!
With so many walks on offer from the door, you could try a different route every day without the need to get in the car! Nearby Latrigg is a must for stunning views over the town and the well equipped can continue onwards from here up Skiddaw, England's fourth highest mountain. If you prefer a low level walk, head down to Derwentwater to enjoy a stroll along the lakeshore and into the woods. Or pack a picnic and walk the full 10 mile circuit around the lake - you can always hitch a ride on the launch for the return leg of the journey if you fancy enjoying the water from a different perspective.
At the front of the cottage is the kitchen, complete with electric oven, has hob, useful microwave and built-in fridge. Continue through into the spacious lounge-diner, a welcoming and sociable space with the round dining table at one end and the comfortable seating at the other. Gather round the wooden dining table and compare notes on the day's events over a hearty home cooked meal, or spread out your maps and guide books and plan tomorrow's. The inviting two-seater sofa and two matching armchairs are positioned in front of the electric stove and there's also a TV, perfect for cosy evenings in.
Off the living area is the bright sun room, a great bonus space, ideal for catching up with a good book. Ornithologists will love sitting in here and watching the comings and goings of the many birds who also like to pay the cottage a visit - or its garden at least!
The stairs lead up from the entrance hallway to the first floor. The master bedroom is light, bright and airy; it has a double bed and the large window has a lovely view over the surrounding greenery to the fells beyond. The wardrobe and chest of drawers provide plenty of storage and there's also a quaint dressing table with stool and an inviting armchair positioned by the window to make the most of the views. The twin bedroom is just as lovely and also has matching wardrobe and chest of drawers for storage.
Also on the first floor is the family bathroom. With a WC, wash basin and bath with shower over, whether you prefer a soak in the bath or a refreshing shower, you'll find that all tastes are catered for here.
Outside to the rear of the property is a delightful cottage garden. With a small patio area, lawn and lovely borders, it's a very pleasant spot to while away a peaceful few hours.
