There are plenty of local footpaths on offer and the quieter country roads in the area are a popular choice with cyclists. With the Yorkshire Dales on your doorstep, there's plenty to see and do, including plenty of fantastic walking opportunities. Head to nearby Ingleton where you can enjoy the popular Waterfalls Trail or visit the stunning White Scar Caves.
The pretty market town of Kirkby Lonsdale has a great choice of eateries as well as quirky independent shops, perfect for indulging in a spot of retail therapy. Visit the famous Devil's Bridge at the eastern end of the town; a scheduled ancient monument, this impressive three-arched bridge is now a popular meeting point and a great spot to enjoy a picnic lunch. Be sure to check out Ruskin's View over the River Lune too, you'll soon see why the poet dubbed this one of the loveliest views in England. Access into the heart of the South Lakes is easy too, with bustling Bowness and Windermere a scenic 30-minute drive away.
The front door leads straight into the open plan living/dining/kitchen area. There is a dining table for four and the kitchen is well equipped with an electric oven and inductions hob, microwave, four-slice toaster and kettle. There's also a dishwasher, so there'll be no need to fight over who to do the washing up, as well as useful washing machine. The sofas are positioned around the wood burner, perfect for cosy evenings in in front of the fire. There's also a TV for entertainment, or sit back and relax with a good book. French windows look out from the living area over the open countryside beyond - the uninterrupted views are truly magnificent.
Also on the ground floor is the first of the cottage's two bedrooms. Accessed off the kitchen area is the first bedroom. The king-size bed in here is perfect for indulging in a long lie in - you are on holiday after all! There's also a chest of drawers and a useful clothes rail with extra drawers underneath for storage. Sliding doors lead to the en-suite shower room with WC, wash basin and a large, modern walk-in shower, perfect for a refreshing shower after a day out exploring.
The open stairs lead up to the first floor where you'll find the to the second bedroom and bathroom. Another beautiful room with a king-size bed and lovely views over the surrounding countryside, you're sure to feel instantly relaxed in here. The double built-in wardrobe provides plenty of storage and there's also a handy chest of drawers too. The bathroom on the first floor has a WC, wash basin, fantastic free-standing bath and separate shower so all tastes are catered for here, whether you prefer a quick shower or a relaxing soak in the tub.
As well as having plenty of off-road parking, the cottage also has a delightful patio garden. Accessed through the French doors off the living area and with garden furniture, the patio is a lovely spot for a morning cuppa or an evening aperitif.
