Why not leave the car where it is and head out on foot to explore? There's plenty on offer just a walk away. Take in a performance at the renowned Theatre by the Lake or catch a film at the Alhambra cinema, just a hop, skip and a jump from the cottage. Walk through the town to Derwentwater, hire a canoe or rowing boat to enjoy the water from a different perspective before finding a peaceful spot for a picnic lunch. Test your mind at the quirky Puzzling Place or treat yourself to some retail therapy in the independent and outdoor shops in the town centre.
Keswick is a haven for walkers with a great choice of routes on offer straight from the front door. Head up local fell Latrigg for stunning views over the town. The well equipped can continue onwards and upwards onto Skiddaw, England's fourth highest mountain. Head to nearby Whinlatter Forest where you can explore the many woodland trails on foot or two-wheels. Adrenaline junkies will love the Go Ape High Ropes course, or why not walk an alpaca for something a little bit different?! Take a scenic drive over Newlands Pass down into Buttermere for a peaceful lakeside picnic or walk the Buttermere fells with Haystacks at the southern end – Wainright’s favourite fell.

The spacious kitchen/diner can be found to your right off the entrance hallway. With pale blue units and a beautiful tiled floor, it's a great sociable space. The kitchen is well equipped with an electric oven and gas hob, handy microwave, built-in fridge and separate freezer, as well as a dishwasher. There is also a washing machine in the understairs cupboard. The wooden dining table sits in the corner, taking full advantage of all the natural light coming in from the dual-aspect windows. Off the kitchen is the bright sun room, a great bonus space, ideal for catching up with a good book.
On the opposite side of the entrance hallway is the ground-floor twin bedroom. Drawers in the beds provide plenty of storage and this room can also be made up as a king upon request. The family bathroom is also on the ground floor; with a WC, wash basin and bath with shower, perfect whether you prefer a long soak in the tub or an invigorating shower.
The spacious living room can be found upstairs on the first floor. With a vaulted ceiling and feature wooden beams, this really is a wow room. The three-seater sofa and two armchairs are positioned around the electric fire and there's a wall-mounted TV for, perfect for cosy evenings in.
Also on the first floor are the modern shower room and lovely double bedroom. Compact but perfectly formed, the shower room has a WC, wash basin and shower cubicle. The bright bedroom has a pine double bed and matching wardrobe, chest of drawers and dressing table.
As well as parking for two cars, the cottage has an enclosed patio garden. With a feature wooden bench, it's a lovely spot, equally suited to a morning cuppa or a refreshing evening drink whilst catching up on the day's events.
