Find a peaceful spot for a picnic lunch, the well prepared can wild swim or why not hitch a ride on the popular launch for a picturesque cruise around the lake? A trip to the recently refurbished Keswick Museum and Art Gallery is a must for anyone with an interest in local history, or have a game of crazy golf or pitch and putt. With a great choice of pubs and restaurants just a short walk from the cottage door, you could try a different one every night!
Whether you prefer lower level ambles or days out in the fells, there are plenty of walking opportunities in Keswick. Stroll around pretty Fitz Park, just across the road from the cottage, or enjoy a ramble through the trees at Great Wood on the shores of Derwentwater. For a more elevated view of the lake, scramble up Catbells or Walla Crag. Tackle Skiddaw, England's fourth highest mountain, or try one of the famous horseshoe walks around the Newlands Valley or Coledale for a longer day out on the fell tops.
