Escape to Eskdale with family and four-legged friends when you choose this welcoming apartment with breath-taking views of the surrounding fells.

Tucked away down a quiet road on the outskirts of the charming village of Eskdale Green, you’ll find this spacious two-storey apartment for four people and up to two lucky dogs. There’s a well-equipped kitchen-diner and a large, bright living room with a wood burning stove. Also on the ground floor is the modern family bathroom and spacious king-size bedroom. The twin bedroom can be found on the first floor. As well as parking for two cars, there’s also a delightful sitting out area for making the most of the wonderful views over the surrounding fells and countryside.

Eskdale Green is a charming hamlet in the beautiful Eskdale Valley, a tranquil area that’s a haven for walkers. Walk from the door through the delightfully named Giggle Alley Wood to find a hidden Japanese garden and head to St Begas church in Eskdale Green to learn all about the history of the local area. Visit the Stanley Ghyll Force waterfall, a beautiful spot for a picnic lunch, before enjoying a ride on the famous La’al Ratty, the Eskdale and Ravenglass steam railway. Ravenglass is a beautiful Roman port on the coast, and Drigg beach is also nearby if you want sand and sea!

There are plenty of opportunities for longer days out on the fell tops too. Serious hikers can tackle Scafell Pike, England’s highest mountain, or head up Muncaster Fell for stunning views of the valley. Visit remote Devoke Water or head to the neighbouring valley of Wasdale for a walk by Wastwater, the deepest of all The Lakes. You’ll be in need of some refreshments after all that exercise! There are a great selection of traditional pubs in Eskdale to enjoy a refreshing drink and a hearty meal after a day out exploring.

An entrance hallway leads through to the living room. A spacious bright room with a feature bay window, making the most of those stunning views of the surrounding fells. Relax on the sofa or armchairs positioned around the wood burning stove housed in the original marble fireplace, perfect for cosy evenings in. There’s a TV for entertainment with Sky and Sky Sports or take a seat in the bay window and catch up with a good book - if you can tear your eyes away from the wonderful view that is!

The modern kitchen/diner is great for sociable mealtimes and is well equipped with all the essentials for a self catering holiday. In here you’ll find an electric oven and hobs, fridge-freezer, handy microwave and a useful washing machine/drier should you need to make use of that during your stay.

Also on the ground floor is the large master bedroom. A lovely light room with a king-size bed, you’re sure to feel instantly relaxed in here so why not indulge in a long lie in? A useful cupboard with hanging space and drawers provides ample storage here. The family bathroom can be found on the ground floor too. With WC, washbasin and bath with shower over, whether you prefer soothing muscles tired from walking with a long soak in the tub or a refreshing shower all tastes are catered for.

Upstairs on the first floor is the twin room. Another spacious room with two single beds and two handy wardrobes and drawers too.

As well as private parking for two cars on the driveway, the garden is shared with the owners but there's a pleasant patio garden area for cottage guests to make use of. With outdoor furniture it’s a delightful spot for dining alfresco with a stunning backdrop.

Our elderly dog struggled with the gradient of the drive and garden and a more structured barrier would be great to stop toddlers and pets falling from the drive to the lower path, not a great distance but enough for a possible injury, I don't think the spaced out pots are enough of a deterrent although beautiful.

An absolutely delightful short stay over the new year period. The cottage was decorated so beautifully with Christmas decorations and a wonderful christmas tree in the bay window. The wood burner made the room so cosy.

We had a lovely stay at The Orchards. Very peaceful in a beautiful location. Comfortable bed and a lovely log burner in the evenings. A short walk or run to get straight into the fells and a great location to pick off some of those hard to reach Wainwrights! Would definitely stay again!

Had a great relaxing stay, so much do we enquired about extending our stay by another night, which would have been great, unfortunately with a 75 admin fee plus the cost of an extra night this made it way to expensive, which is a shame for the owner as the property remained unoccupied
