In the heart of the pretty Lake District village of Grasmere, you'll find this beautiful home from home for up to four people. Inside this charming two-bedroom cottage, you'll find a well-equipped kitchen and a spacious living-dining room, complete with cosy wood burner. Upstairs on the first floor are the two beautiful bedrooms and the lovely family bathroom. As well as parking for one car, there's also a little patio with outdoor furniture: a real bonus for a cottage in the centre of Grasmere.
From the quaint selection of independent shops and art galleries to the quirky cafes and restaurants, this pretty village is rightly popular with visitors and locals alike. There are plenty of wonderful walks nearby too. Explore the woods at popular White Moss on the shores of the lake. From here you can continue on to Rydal Caves or up to the top of Loughrigg Fell. The short but steep climb is certainly worth it for the stunning views from the summit. Walk from the door up to Easedale Tarn; follow the footpath across fields and alongside waterfalls before reaching this beautiful mountain tarn - the perfect spot to enjoy some delicious Grasmere Gingerbread!
If you fancy heading slightly further afield, both the northern and southern Lakes are easily accessible from Grasmere. Spend a day exploring the bustling market town of Keswick or head to the magnificent Langdale Valley - with its rugged mountains and peaceful tarns, it's a must for any avid fell walker. Ambleside is a scenic 15-minute drive away; here you can treat yourselves to dinner and a movie at Zeffirellis with its multiscreen cinema and Italian restaurant, a lovely evening out. Why not continue south to Bowness and Windermere? Indulge in some retail therapy, hire a boat or let someone else do the hard work and enjoy a scenic cruise around Lake Winderemere on one of the popular launches.
Head inside and into the spacious living-dining room. Light, bright and airy thanks to the full-height, full-width windows, this really is a fantastic space. The stylish three-seater and two-seater leather sofas are perfectly positioned around the wood burning stove, perfect for cosy evenings in in front of the fire. There's a TV for entertainment too, making this the perfect spot to relax after a day out exploring. Gather round the wooden table by the window and compare notes on the day's events over a hearty home cooked meal. The kitchen is well equipped with an electric oven and separate electric hob, built in washer-dryer and handy microwave. There's even a coffee machine and a slimline dishwasher to help make your stay as easy and relaxed as possible.
From the living room, the stairs lead up to the first floor where you'll find the two bedrooms. Decorated in calming grey tones, both these bedrooms feel wonderfully relaxing. The master bedroom has a king-size bed, perfect for indulging in a long lie in - you are on holiday after all! The second bedroom, a super king, is just as lovely as the first. This room can also be made up as a twin upon request.
Also on the first floor is the family bathroom. As well as the WC and washbasin, there's a bath with shower over, meaning all tastes are catered for whether you like a relaxing soak in the tub or prefer a shower to reinvigorate muscles tired from walking.
Outside you'll find allocted parking for one small car and a little patio area to the front of the cottage in the shared courtyard. With outdoor furniture, it's a lovely spot watch the world go by.
