Make the most of Windermere with this dog-friendly home from home within easy walking distance of this popular area’s amenities and attractions.

A short walk from the centre of Bowness is this beautifully renovated townhouse which offers wonderful, spacious accommodation for four people and a dog to enjoy everything that Bowness-on-Windermere has to offer. With stunning lake and mountain views, the property is aptly named and certainly makes the most of its elevated position. Laid out over three floors, there's a useful modern shower room on the ground floor and on the first floor you'll find the two bedrooms, a king size and a twin (this room can also be made up as super-king upon request). The fantastic kitchen-diner and living room are on the second floor, really making the most of the stunning views towards to the fells and Lake Windermere. The balcony up here is the perfect place to sit and admire your beautiful backdrop. As well as all this, there's a charming patio garden that's ideal for dining alfresco, two private parking spaces and an integral garage for storing bikes, all a real bonus so close to the centre of Bowness.

 

There's something for everyone in bustling Bowness. There is a great selection of shops, cafes and a multiscreen cinema. Visit the Windermere Jetty Museum to learn all about the history of boats and steam in the area. Head up Brant Fell or enjoy a lakeside stroll along the shores of Windermere. Why not catch the ferry across the water to Hawkshead, another charming Lakeland village, where you can visit the former home of Beatrix Potter at Hilltop, before stocking up on the village's delicious relish?

 

Spend a day exploring the magnificent Langdale Valley. With its rugged mountains and picturesque tarns, it's a must for any avid fell walker. Head up Lingmoor Fell for stunning, panoramic views of The Lakes or enjoy a peaceful picnic beside beautiful Blea Tarn. Stop off at one of the traditional pubs on your way back for a hearty meal and refreshing drink. Head north to Keswick, the adventure capital of The Lakes. Sign up for an activity with one of the local adventure companies; try canoeing, ghyll scrambling and raft building, or the brave can tackle the Via Ferrata at Honister Slate Mine.

 

Head inside and on the ground floor is a fantastic shower room. With a WC, sink and modern shower enclosure, it's perfect for reinvigorating tired muscles after a day on the fells. This room also doubles as a useful utility area housing the washing machine and tumble dryer should you need to make use of these during your stay.

 

On the first floor you'll find the two bedrooms and a second bathroom. The lovely master bedroom is beautifully presented in neutral, calming colours. Furnished with a king-size bed, there's also a handy wardrobe and chest of drawers for storage. The bright super-king room is lovely and has a delightful dressing table tucked in one corner. This bedroom can also be made up as a twin upon request. Also on the first floor is the family bathroom, complete with WC, washbasin and bath with shower over.

 

Onwards and upwards to the second floor and the fantastic living accommodation. The modern dining kitchen is well equipped with everything you'd need for a self-catering holiday. There's an electric oven and hob, handy microwave, fridge-freezer and a dishwasher. The views over the Fairfield fells are outstanding. The round dining table is perfect for sociable mealtimes and there are wonderful views to the fells too. The spacious living room up here is light, bright and airy thanks to its wall of windows. Relax on one of the two sofas, there's a TV with Freeview for entertainment or simply sit back and take in those stunning views. Sliding doors lead out to the south-facing balcony, a real treat. With outdoor seating, it's a wonderful place to sit and admire the views over the rooftops to the fells and Lake Windermere. Early risers will love sitting out here with their morning cuppa listening to the birds, but it's equally suited as a delightful place to enjoy an evening aperitif.

 

As well as the balcony off the living area, this property also has a delightful enclosed rear patio garden. With a table and chairs, it's a lovely spot for dining alfresco or enjoying a glass of wine.

 

To the front of the cottage there are two private parking spaces, a rare bonus so close to the centre of Bowness. There's also a useful integral garage with a hanging clothes airer for drying outdoor gear. The garage can also be used for bike storage - ideal if you fancy leaving the car where it is and getting out and about on two wheels instead.

A super holiday let, so clean and well equipped, it had everything we needed. The views, especially from the kitchen window, were a constant delight throughout the week. Set back but so convenient for the Bowness shops and bus stops. It was great to have two parking spaces. We used the 599 bus service every day to access walks at Windermere, AmblesRead moreide and Grasmere so didn't need the car. Easy walk to the lake and the ferry services. An excellent property and attention to detail meant that our stay at Crows Nest was as comfortable and relaxed as we had hoped. The view up the lake from the top floor is magnificent.

Wonderful property, spotlessly clean, well furnished and very well equipped, and a comfy bed. Fabulous views and great balcony. This is an amazing place. Only a short walk from the heart of Bowness and all that has to offer, yet fully equipped to cater from home should you wish. Real highlights were the balcony; views from every window; the utility room and spacious garage for drying wet clothes. Crow's nest is ideal for so many reasons : position within Bowness but also to explore the area, the facilities in the house are exceptional, the quality of the beds and kitchen items were amazing. Have had a fabulous week in house, weather has been great. Everything was there in the kitchen that we needed. Lovely and clean. Comfortable beds, nice quiet location, lovely views from kitchen and living room window. Downside it's up a wee hill if your fit that's good but unfortunately I'm not but never the less I got my daughter to bring the car Read moredown to take me back up. Lovely cottage with all the facilities needed. Great location to access the shops and restaurants in Bowness. Also good access to public transport for walks so don't always need to use the car. We have stayed at this cottage twice now and would return in the future.

Beautiful accommodation and great location. Easy downhill walk into town where you will find a Co-Op and a small Tescos. Great pubs and bars. Also close to the lake where you can get a boat to Ambleside, or just a trip around the lake. This is also where you will find the tourist information centre.

We had a lovely time in this beautiful property. It is stylish and well equipped. We loved the views and the balcony. It was a very hot week so the ability to open the doors was very welcome. It is also very well placed to easily walk into Bowness and Windermere. We would definitely stay here again.
