Ullswater, queen of the English Lakes, can be reached via a beautiful walk alongside Aira Force. The lake is just waiting to be explored by canoe, under sail or on one of the fleet of heritage steamers. At the end of the busy day, a mile's walk down the lane will take you to the local pub, while shops at Troutbeck and Glenridding provide the essentials.
