For good walking, the fells nearby include the High Street range, 5 miles away and Helvellyn is just 10 miles away. The cottage is ideally placed for enjoying the activities around Ullswater which is 4 miles away, where excellent walking and cycling amidst splendid scenery can be enjoyed. If you enjoy a picnic, why not pack a rug and goodies and explore the numerous beaches around Ullswater, perfect to relax and rejuvenate from busy lives. To make the most of the spectacular scenery take a cruise on the Ullswater Steamers which sail throughout the year. Water sports are also nearby with rowing boats and kayaks available to hire.
If you fancy heading slightly further afield, then take a scenic drive to the beautiful South Lakes! Explore bustling Ambleside with its independent shops and quirky eateries or head to Bowness-on-Windermere to admire the yachts and enjoy a lakeside picnic. The historic border city of Carlisle is half an hour away. Visit Tullie House Museum to learn all about this area's past and Roman connections, with part of the infamous Hadrian's Wall itself not too far away.

For entertainment there's a 32 flatscreen TV with a DVD player and a numerous selection of family DVDs to enjoy. The kitchen opens into the dining area, making it a fantastic sociable space. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you'd need for a self-catering holiday. In here you'll find an electric oven and hob, fridge, freezer, handy microwave and dishwasher so there's no need to fight over who has to do the washing up!
Onwards and upwards to the first floor and the three gorgeous bedrooms. First up is the lovely master bedroom, with a feature metal-framed king-size bed. There are built in cupboards for storage and a dressing table with mirror and stool. Next at the rear of the cottage we have the bright double bedroom, Again, with a lovely metal-framed bed. A handy chest of drawers provides the storage and there are useful hooks should you need to make use of them. The view from this window sees the wonderful Pennines in the distance. Last but by no means least is the delightful twin room. Also on the first floor is the wonderful family bathroom. As well as the WC and wash basin, there's a separate shower cubicle and elegant free-standing bath, perfect for indulging in a long soak.
With the benefit of being south-east facing, the front of the cottage has the sunshine for most of the day and into the evening, perfect for a glass of wine outside in the sitting area, while soaking up the atmosphere at the front of the property, with open fields and Blencathra in the distance. At the rear of Bumblebee is a spacious terraced area. This can be accessed via 9 steps and is the perfect location to enjoy a morning cuppa whilst looking across green pastures towards the Pennines.
