This fantastic converted barn offers welcoming accommodation for five people. It is surrounded by magnificent views - sure to inspire you to get out and explore this beautiful area. Walk straight from the door onto mighty Blencathra. Lace up your walking boots and tackle this popular fell, there are plenty of routes to choose from including the scramble up Sharp Edge for experienced hill walkers. If a lower level walks are more your thing, there are plenty of footpaths that criscross the village. Why not head for the Threlkeld to Keswick Railway Trail? Walk part of the route or the whole way to Keswick (there and back will be 10k), it's a fantastic accessible walk - or cycle if you prefer to explore on two-wheels. You'll be in need of refreshments after all that exercise! Threlkeld has two pubs to choose from for hearty meals and real ales. There's also a friendly village cafe for fresh coffee and yummy homemade cakes.

The bustling market town of Keswick is just 4 miles away where you'll find a great choice of outdoor and independent shops, as well as a supermarket. Often considered the adventure capital of the North Lakes, why not sign up for an activity with one of the local adventure companies? Try your hand at ghyll scrambling, canyoning or tackle the Via Ferrata at Honister Slate Mine. For an evening out, take in a film at the family owned Alhambra cinema or a performance at the renowned and aptly named Theatre by the Lake.

Step inside and you're sure to feel right at home. The open-plan living/dining/kitchen area is an inviting, sociable space - ideal for a holiday. The kitchen is well-equipped with an electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, handy microwave and useful dishwasher, as well as the all important toaster and kettle. There is plenty of storage space and a great selection of crockery, the cooks in the group are sure to love whipping up a feast in here.

Gather round the dining table and compare notes on the days adventures over a delicious home cooked meal, before moving to the living area. Relax on the sofas in front of the cosy wood burner, perfect for relaxing evenings in in front of the fire. For entertainment there's a Freeview TV. Also on the ground floor, though up a step up from the living area, is a useful utility room with washing machine and handy extra WC.

Up the stairs on the first floor you'll find the three bedrooms and two bathrooms. First up is the lovely master bedroom which has its own fabulous en-suite shower room, with WC and modern shower. As well as a handy wardrobe and chest of drawers for storage, the double bed is perfectly positioned to make the most of the stunning views on offer. Bring your morning cuppa back to bed and indulge in a long lie in, you are on holiday after all! The second bedroom is also a double and last but by no means least is the cosy single room. As well as the WC, the modern family bathroom has a fantastic walk-in shower and separate bath, meaning you can enjoy a long soak in the tub or reinvigorate muscles tired from walking in the shower.

To the side of the cottage is a lovely garden area. With mighty Blencathra as your backdrop, it's a lovely spot for your morning cuppa.

This is a fabulous cottage with wonderful views of the hills. 10 minutes walk above Threlkeld so really peaceful. The cottage was spotlessly clean, very well equipped and with excellent showers. We are already thinking about when we can come back!
