The lovely rooms are well appointed and will provide plenty of comfort during your stay, while the delightful south-facing patio area off the conservatory is a real sun-trap and has wonderful views over the Lakeland fells.
Located a scenic 15-minute walk from the centre of Keswick, why not walk along the lovely pathways into town and indulge in some retail therapy? Stop off for coffee and cake at one the independent cafes before the return journey. For those interested in local history, a trip to Keswick Museum and Art Gallery is a must, or test your brain power at the aptly named Puzzling Place. There's a great choice of eateries on offer in Keswick - try a different one every night! Treat yourselves to cocktails and a delicious meal in a friendly atmosphere in town.
Lace up your walking boots and head up local fell Latrigg straight from the door. Wind your way through the woods to the top - be sure to keep an eye out for the resident deer, buzzards and red squirrels. Serious fell walkers can continue onwards and upwards onto mighty Skiddaw, England's fourth highest mountain, from here too. Why not scramble up Catbells or Walla Crag for stunning panoramic views of Derwentwater? If you'd rather be closer to the water, tackle the 10-mile circular walk round the lake or enjoy a cruise on the popular launch and enjoy the water from a different perspective.
The spacious open-plan living-dining room is wonderfully inviting. In the living area, the furniture is arranged to take full advantage of the large wood burner, perfect for cosy evenings in in front of the fire. For entertainment, there's a Freeview TV or gather round the dining table and compare notes on your day's adventures. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you'd need for a self catering holiday, there's an electric oven, separate induction hob, handy microwave, even handier wine-cooler, built in dishwasher and built in fridge/freezer. Pull up a stool at the modern island unit and keep the cook company. In the charming conservatory you'll find another table and chairs; a lovely light filled room overlooking the private patio, it's a lovely place to linger over a peaceful brunch.
Also on the ground floor is a handy utility/drying room with a washer/dryer, overhead traditional airer, iron and ironing board, as well as a Butler's sink, coat hooks and storage space. A handy desk area is positioned by one of the picture windows, an ideal spot if you need to do a bit of work.
Head up the stairs to the first floor where you'll find the two gorgeous bedrooms and two bathrooms. The fabulous king-size bedroom is a real treat; decorated in calming neutral grey tones, it's the perfect place to relax with an elegant double ended chaise lounge perfectly positioned in front of the large feature window overlooking the gardens and Lakeland fells. There is a wardrobe and chest of drawers, and it has its own spacious en-suite bathroom with WC, two wash basins, bath and separate shower cubicle.
The second bedroom is no less lovely than the first. This room contains a super-king bed (which can be made up as a twin upon request) and has mirrored wardrobes and chest of drawers for storage. Also on the first floor is the family shower room. As well as the WC and wash basin there's a fantastic modern shower with rainfall-effect shower head perfect for soothing muscles tired from walking.
Outside the conservatory is a delightful south-facing rear patio area, overlooking the private gardens, perfect for an al fresco aperitif. There are a table and chairs for guest use on the patio where you can keep an eye out for the wide variety of birds that like to visit, you might even be lucky enough to spot a much loved but elusive red squirrel.
