Set in the thriving town of Keswick, this pretty first and second-storey apartment offers a welcoming and stylish base from which to explore this stunning part of the Lake District.
This characterful holiday home is a delightful first- and second-floor apartment for five people. With views over the surrounding rooftops to the fells beyond and the centre of Keswick only a stone's throw away, you couldn't want for much more. A private entrance from Stanger Street leads you to the living accommodation on the first floor. Here you'll find a well-equipped kitchen with breakfast bar, lovely living-dining room, handy utility room and family bathroom. Up another flight of steep stairs to the second floor and the three bedrooms: a double, a twin and a single. Also accessed via the landing, the twin bedroom has a useful en-suite shower room too. An allocated parking space is a real bonus here, as is your own delightful private courtyard and access to a shared drying area.
With everything that Keswick has to offer just a short stroll from your doorstep, you'll be itching to get out and about! Check out the shops in the market square before taking a leisurely stroll down to picturesque Derwentwater. Take in a film at the family owned Alhambra cinema or enjoy a performance at the aptly named Theatre by the Lake. Fancy a night off from cooking? Grab some takeaway fish and chips or head to a local restaurant and treat yourselves to some fine dining.
Tick off a few from Alfred Wainwright's famous list of trails straight from the front door. Latrigg, Catbells and Walla Crag are all firm favourites or try Skiddaw, Blencathra or Causey Pike for a more challenging day out. If lower level walks are more your thing, there's still plenty of choice. Fitz Park and Hope Park are just 5 minutes' away, with a playground in the former and tennis courts in the latter, both parks offer plenty for all ages. Enjoy a walk along the lakeshore and surrounding woodlands, or head to Whinlatter Forest, a 10 minute drive away, where you can hire mountain bikes and explore on two wheels, or brave the Go Ape high rope adventure course.
A private entrance hall and stairs leads up to the first floor where you'll find the living accommodation. The ground floor entrance hall is the ideal place for storing coats, boots and rucksacks before continuing into this lovely apartment. The modern kitchen is well equipped with an electric oven and gas hob, fridge, handy microwave and useful dishwasher - there'll be no fighting over the washing up here! Early risers will love the breakfast bar in here, grab a coffee and croissant and enjoy a peaceful few minutes before everyone else gets up. A useful utility room houses the washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer. There's a lovely living-dining room; with leather sofas positioned around a feature electric fire, this room is perfect for relaxing after a day out exploring. For entertainment there's a Smart TV with Freeview and DVD player, as well as a CD player with separate bluetooth speaker. Enjoy a home-cooked meal round the dining table whilst you exchange notes on the day's adventures - or plan tomorrow's! The main family bathroom is also on the first floor. With a bath and separate shower cubicle (as well as the requisite WC and wash basin) so all tastes are catered for - indulge in a long soak or reinvigorate tired muscles with a shower, the choice is yours.
Onwards and upwards to the second floor, via a steep staircase, to the sleeping accommodation. Firstly, the master bedroom. Thanks to its large street-side window, this is a lovely light room; with a feature wooden double bed, it's a welcoming room to retire to after a busy day. Matching bedside tables, a wardrobe with hanging space and drawers, and a cute dressing table with stool complete this room. Next up we have the cosy twin room; with 2 single beds positioned in an L-shape, children are sure to love this room (the single beds are regular size so are suitable for adults too). Again, bedside tables and a wardrobe with drawers as well as hanging space provide storage. The twin bedroom benefits from a handy en-suite shower room. Containing WC, wash basin and shower cubicle, the en-suite also has a second door onto the landing making it a really useful addition to the second floor. Last but by no means least is the single bedroom; another cosy but deightful room with wooden single bed and useful chest of drawers for storage.
The property has a dedicated parking space, a rare bonus this close to the town centre, as is the useful shared drying area at the end of the terrace. Take a seat in the private, quant shillied courtyard at the front of the property; make a cuppa and relax here with a good book or simply watch the world go by.
