Providing delightful single-storey accommodation, this characterful holiday home is a wonderful retreat for up to four people to escape the stresses of everyday life. Set in the charming village of Staveley, you couldn't ask for a better location from which to explore this part of the South Lakes. Leave the car at the cottage and head to the famous Hawkshead Brewery and enjoy a relaxing drink in the popular beer hall. Fans of two wheels will love a trip to Wheelbase in the village; the UK's largest cycle store, this is sure to delight any bike lover. Staveley enjoys an enviable position at the mouth of the Kentmere Valley. Surrounded by beautiful countryside, there's plenty to explore - on foot or on two wheels!
Stavely can be found between the ever popular Windermere and the bustling South Lakes town of Kendal. For a day of culture, head into Kendal and visit the Brewery Arts Centre; take in a play or film, or partake in one of the many day courses offered here. A walk round the ruins of Kendal Castle is a must for anyone interested in local history or spend a fascinating afternoon at the Museum of Lakeland Life and Industry. A short drive in the other direction brings you to Windermere Village. With its great choice of bars, it's perfect for sampling a cocktail or two, or have a night off from cooking and treat yourself to a delicious meal at one of the town's pubs or restaurants. Venture onwards to Bowness and enjoy a spot of retail therapy followed by a cruise round Lake Windermere.
Fancy a day trip? Enjoy a scenic drive through The Lakes to Keswick, a bustling market town on the shores of Derwentwater. A steep walk out of the town is rewarded by the mysterious Castlerigg Stone Circle - see if you can count the same number of stones twice! Why not enjoy coffee and a slice of homemade cake at one of the town's independent cafes? Or grab some fish and chips to enjoy by the lake before your journey back to your home-from-home.
The modern kitchen is well equipped with an electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, handy microwave and useful washing machine. There's also a dishwasher so there'll be no fighting over the washing up here! Enjoy your morning coffee at the breakfast bar before moving through the archway where you'll find a dining table and benches, ideal for drawing up plans for your day's adventures over a home cooked meal. The dining area leads round to the lovely living area. Decorated in neutral tones and with a cosy wood burner, it's the perfect place to relax in comfort. There's a Smart TV and DVD player for entertainment too.
The property has plenty of space for everyone to spread out should they wish to. Grab a good book and retreat to the snug, or choose to watch something different on the second TV in here. Through the snug is a wonderful, light-filled conservatory. Overlooking the rear outside area - a haven for visiting birds, relax with a cup of tea and enjoy a moment's peace and quiet.
Onwards to the sleeping quarters. The master bedroom has a wonderful wood king-size bed, with a wardrobe and chest of drawers for storage. Through stylish saloon doors you'll find the master bedroom's en-suite bathroom: complete with shower cubicle, WC and wash basin. The second bedroom is just as delightful as the first, with a further king-size bed. Fitted units provide plenty of storage space. The family bathroom contains a shower over the bath (as well as the requisite sink and WC), so all tastes are catered for.
Take advantage of the outdoor furniture provided for the outside area and enjoy a meal al fresco. The useful garage is available for storing bikes (please bring your own bike locks to store them securely) and there's private off-road parking for two cars.
