A converted laundry, this attractive holiday home now provides beautiful accommodation for up to eight people to relax in style surrounded by stunning countryside. This spacious property is full of charm and character: exposed stonework, original beams and a feature fireplace with wood burner all help you to feel right at home. Converted with easy and sociable living in mind, the property is a wonderful retreat for groups of friends or families looking to holiday together. A magnificent hallway welcomes you with open arms into this beautiful cottage. On the ground floor you'll find two of the four bedrooms; both contain zip-and-link beds (twin or super-king) and so offer great flexible sleeping accommodation. Also on the ground floor is a luxurious family bathroom with free-standing bath and separate shower. The remaining two bedrooms are on the first floor, both king size with their own en-suite bathrooms, along with the open-plan kitchen-dining room, just perfect for sociable mealtimes, and the separate living room complete with wood burner. The enclosed garden overlooking the surrounding fields (you might even have some neighbouring livestock during your stay!) is a wonderful spot to while away the hours.

Skirwith is a peaceful village located in the beautiful Eden Valley. This quieter part of the county still has plenty to see and do. A network of footpaths and bridleways wind their way through Skirwith and its neighbouring villages, why not leave the car and head out on foot to explore what's on your doorstep? In nearby Little Salkeld you'll find Long Meg and her daughters, as well as Lacy's Caves - both a must for anyone intrigued by local history. For a hearty meal, head to the pub, both just a short drive from Skirwith.

Stunning Ullswater is a must for a grand day out! Pack a picnic and enjoy a day on the water: try a spot of wild swimming, hire a canoe or rowing boat - or hitch a ride on the stately steamer and let someone else do the hard work. Children and adults alike will love a trip to Lowther Castle and Gardens; hire a bike and spend the morning exploring the estate's wealth of cycle tracks before heading to the adventure playground, not forgetting a pitstop in the cafe to refuel!

A spacious hallway invites you into the property, with exposed stone walls and a part double height ceiling, it's certainly a fitting entrance. On the ground floor are two bedrooms and a luxurious family bathroom. Both bedrooms are spacious and contain zip-and-link beds; normally made up as kings, these flexible beds can be made into twins upon request. Decorated in calming neutral tones and with lovely views from the traditional sash windows, you'll feel instantly relaxed in these gorgeous bedrooms. Also on the ground floor is a stylish family bathroom. A statement free-standing bath and separate walk in shower add a touch of luxury to this bathroom; indulge in a relaxing soak or recharge tired muscles with an invigorating shower - the choice is yours! A WC and wash basin complete the room.

Head up the stairs to find out what else the property has to offer. Up here, you'll find the remaining two bedrooms. The first is a lovely king-size room with its own en-suite bathroom (with bath and hand-held shower). The stunning master bedroom is next on the list; with wonderful exposed beams and a breathtaking vaulted ceiling, is impressive. If you're lucky enough to call this room yours for the week, treat yourself to a lie in or two, the king-size bed is the perfect spot to linger over your morning cuppa. The master bedroom has a fantastic modern en-suite shower room.

Also on the first floor is the lovely living accommodation. The open-plan kitchen-living room is perfect for sociable mealtimes. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you'll need for a self catering holiday: there's an electric oven and induction hob, handy microwave and useful dishwasher - there'll be no fighting over the washing up here! Enjoy a home cooked feast around the dining table, perfect for exchanging notes on the days' adventures or planning tomorrow's. Retire to the separate living room to relax in style, a cosy yet wonderfully spacious room. A feature vaulted ceiling and original beams add warmth and character, whilst the many windows bring in plenty of natural light and make the most of the lovely views on offer. Relax in front of the wood burner, catch up on some TV or simply curl up with a good book - bliss.

Outside is a delightful enclosed garden. Located at the back of the property and surrounded by fields and countryside, it's a private space just perfect for a spot of al fresco dining with garden furniture being provided from May to September.

As mentioned in the star rating, the house was very pleasant. Our only drawback was there wasnt any walks from the house itself. We had to go by car for any nice walks.
