Your nearest lake is Loweswater, and that's just 15 minutes away. There are lovely lakeside walks or you can stride out onto the high fells here. Buttermere and Crummock Water are just a stone's throw further on.
The colourful town of Cockermouth is also a 15-minute drive and has a lovely wide main street, with its quirky Kirkgate area at the far end. There is a wide choice of independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants, as well as larger supermarkets. It's also the town where Wordsworth was born, and where he spent his early years - you can visit his house there.
Or you can explore Branthwaite and the little pathways that lead out from the village.
The porch leads directly into a light and airy sitting room with dining area. There's a wonderful gas effect stove framed by a local sandstone creating a warm and cosy atmosphere where you can sink into one of the comfy sofas and watch the large Smart TV.
Through to the kitchen which is fully equipped with electric oven and hob, dishwasher, fridge with a decent sized freezer (three drawers), and plenty of storage space.
The bathroom is at the bottom of the stairs and has a shower over the bath.
There are two bedrooms at the top of the stairs. On your left is the the double, and the twin is on your right. Both are equipped with wardrobe, chest of drawers, and bedside tables. Both are beautifully fresh, bathed as they are in natural light, with stripped floorboards, cosy rugs and beautiful decor.
Out of the back door is a patio area with a lovely courtyard feel to it, and even better, a fire pit and BBQ to while away a summer's evening. In all it's an indulgent nest of a house, perfect for relaxing away from the day to day duties of life.
