This characterful holiday home is a wonderfully lovely apartment in the heart of the Wasdale Valley. It’s one of those places that has a really nice ‘feel’ to it – perhaps this is due to the comfortable lounge area, or maybe it’s the totally amazing views, or the knowledge that nature is all around, whatever it is, it’s the place to come to and switch off from all the stresses of daily life!
Wasdale is one of the most awe-inspiring valleys in the Lake District. The view of Great Gable towering over the dark depths of Wastwater is iconic. The lake itself is just a half a mile away, and there are footpaths all over the fells behind this characterful holiday home. And of course the monumental Scafell Pike is at the top end of the lake just waiting to be climbed!
If you’d like to explore further afield, or buy cake and other supplies, then the village of Gosforth is 10 minutes by car and has a popular bakery and local store. The castle at Muncaster is 20 minutes away and is a great day of exploration, history and wild gardens. And Eskdale is the very next valley along (in fact you can walk there over the tops if you’re feeling energetic). It’s the stopping place for the “la’al ratty” – a miniature steam railway making a beautiful 7 mile journey from Eskdale to the coast.
The main room at the property is large and light with stupendous views from the double windows. Sink into the leather chairs and feel the sun on your face! There are guide books, novels and maps to browse through.
The kitchen area is lovely and modern with a cottage ‘feel’ to it. It’s equipped with electric hob, oven, separate microwave, fridge and freezer, as well as storage space. There is dining for four by one of the windows.
There are two bedrooms, both doubles, Again with lovely views.
The bathroom is modern with a large walk in electric shower.
Outside is a courtyard shared with the other apartments, and then all around is fellside to explore.
