Make the most of long summer evenings with a spot of al fresco dining in the large rear garden - you'll feel sad to leave this gem of a cottage!
Threlkeld is a wonderful Lakeland village. It's a paradise for fell walkers with majestic Blencathra, mighty Skiddaw and its smaller cousin Latrigg all on offer straight from the front door; for a slightly longer day out, head over the A66 for a walk along High Rigg or Clough Head - you really are spoilt for choice here! Threlkeld has a choice of two pubs, perfect for a cold pint or G&T and a hearty meal after a day on the fells. If lower level ambles are more your thing, there are plenty of footpaths to explore around the village too - don't forget to stop off at the cafe in the Village Hall for a slice of cake.
The popular market town of Keswick is only a 5-minute drive away, or you can leave the car and hop on the bus that passes through the village or even enjoy a meandering walk to town (there a few different routes to choose from). With a great choice of independent and outdoor shops, Keswick is great for a bit of retail therapy. If you fancy a relaxing day, take a ride on the launch and enjoy a cruise around Derwentwater?
Step inside the cottage and you'll feel instantly at home. The country-style kitchen/diner is a convivial space equipped with Range-stlye cooker, large fridge/freezer, microwave, handy dishwasher and a beautiful belfast sink. There's a large larder-style cupboard and extra space by the sink for storage. The floor is laid with sandstone flags. From the kitchen, head through into the wonderful living room. You'll be immediately drawn to the windows and the spectacular open views towards High Rigg, Clough Head and the Helvellyn Range - a truly breathtaking vista! With the seating arranged to make the most of that gorgeous view, the living room is the perfect place to sit back and relax after a day out exploring. Recount your adventures and tick off the peaks you can see from the window whilst relaxing in front of the cosy wood burner. If you can tear yourself away from the view, there's a Smart TV and DVD for entertainment. Or wait till everyone else is out and simply curl up with a good book for a spot of 'me time'. A handy utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer is a useful addition, as is the handy WC on the ground floor.
Head up the stairs and you'll find two of the bedrooms: the master double bedroom is a lovely relaxing room. There is a lovely dressing table in the master bedroom (you'll find a handy hairdryer in the drawers here), as well as a double wardrobe with deep-draw tall chest of draws and two open bedside cabinets for storage. The single bedroom further along the landing is just as delightful. In here there's a double wardrobe with deep draw, chest of draws and bedside cabinet with small draw and cupboard. The family bathroom is also on the first floor - it has a bath with overhead shower and additional hand-held shower attachment. Onwards and upwards to the second floor and the twin attic bedroom, with stunning views from the Velux windows you'll feel on top of the world here! For storage here's a double wardrobe with deep draw, dressing table with small draws either side and two open bedside cabinets.
As well as private parking for several cars, the cottage also has a wonderful, large rear garden. Make the most of long summer evenings out here by enjoying an al fresco meal, or snuggle up with a blanket and mug of hot chocolate on colder nights and enjoy an evening looking at the night sky. Perfect.
