A perfect hideaway for couples or small families, this apartment is set in a peaceful, town-centre location surrounded by beautiful scenery, with amenities and outdoor activities on its doorstep.
This is the perfect holiday apartment if you are looking for convenience and a central location. The building was originally a pencil mill and sits in Keswick's old industrial hub, where many properties housed waterwheels to harness the power of the river. The mill was converted into the comfortable apartments that exist today and is located just a stone's throw away from the town centre. This apartment is lovely and homey, compact but with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The riverside views from the living room and twin room are a real highlight. You are nestled right in the heart of this bustling market town but can also enjoy the quiet tranquillity of this leafy part of Keswick, with views stretching out across Fitz Park and up to Latrigg.
Everything in this apartment is laid out to make your stay as comfortable as possible. You can sit in the living room and enjoy the mountain views; there is also a flatscreen TV, Wi-Fi, a shelf of books for entertainment, along with plenty of comfortable seating. The living room door is half glazed, so the room is lovely and light in the daytime and the coal-effect fire makes for a cosy atmosphere when the night draws in.
At the end of your day, you can step across the road to enjoy a coffee, glass of wine or tasty pub meal and there is even a pool table and darts, for those who like a game or two! You are also just 2 minutes from The Keswick Brewing Company, where they have a stylish new bar for sampling their ales, though they close early evening so check their website for opening times. Just a short walk into town and you will find many delicious menus on offer in a range of independent pubs, restaurants and cafes. The Alhambra Cinema is a top attraction in the evening and is just five minutes away. It takes approximately 15 minutes to walk from the apartment down to the theatre, which sits at the lake shore of Derwentwater.
Drive down Otley Road and enter the private parking area for the apartments, clearly signed on a large metal gate. The apartment is accessed via this carpark, up a set of external concrete steps. The steps are wide and have a hand-rail, so it's easy to carry luggage up the stairs. When you get to the first floor, you will see your apartment on your left. There is a small balcony by the front door with a bench seat, a good spot to watch the world go by.
As you walk into this comfortably furnished apartment, you enter a corridor, with all rooms leading off this central hallway. There is a small shoe-rack and a coat rail in the hallway, as well as a dehumidifier for those who need to dry out walking kit after a day out in the mountains! The 3D map of the Lake District is useful for getting your bearings when planning each days excursion. Moving along the entrance way, a sliding door takes you into the kitchen. Though this is a compact space, it contains everything you will require for self catering: an oven with grill and electric hobs, toaster, kettle, microwave, bread-tin, fridge with small freezer compartment, washing machine, sink and a good range of pans, plates and cutlery.
The bright and airy master bedroom has a double bed, wardrobe, two sets of drawers, single chair and lamp on either side of the bed and a mirror above one set of drawers. This room is carpeted and has an electric heater, so is nice and cosy. The twin bedroom is also carpeted and has the River Greta running past the window, with lovely views stretching across Fritz Park and up to Latrigg. There are two single beds in this room with one set of drawers between them and a lamp for each bed. There is space to hang clothes in a single-door wardrobe and a full length mirror hangs on the wall. The bathroom is next door and has a full-sized bath (with hand-rail) and an electric shower over the bath, a toilet and sink with useful lit mirror.
The living room is bright and inviting and also boasts beautiful views towards the ever popular Latrigg. There is a comfortable triple sofa, a single armchair, log-effect electric fire, flatscreen TV, Wi-Fi and shelf of books - so you have plenty to keep yourself entertained! At one side of the room, there is a drop-leaf table to seat four, which can be pulled into the centre of the living room when you are ready to dine. There are three dining chairs in the living room and the fourth chair can be found in the double bedroom.
