Lorton is a peaceful village in a wonderful corner of the UNESCO Lake District National Park. It could scarcely be better placed to enjoy everything that the area has to offer. The small village lies just 4 miles from Crummock and Loweswater, two of the most picturesque lakes in the area. It is also four miles from Wordsworth’s birthplace, the charming Georgian town of Cockermouth and eight miles from Cumbria’s adventure capital, Keswick. The village itself is a tranquil gem with an excellent local pub just 100m away from the driveway, a much treasured village shop and tons of walks and cycle rides from the doorstep.
